Ezekiel 33:6

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Matthew 7:15

Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves. . .

Repent Now Ye Car Tire Sinners, The End is Nigh! Padre Papa Chuy Viejo and The Reverend Haulin' Ashe are praying as hard as we can for your immortal souls and as fast as we can for your true salvation. But you FJR cat blood drinking car tire Satanists are going to burn in eternal damnation. Give up your evil ways and switch back to MT's before it is too late for your salvation.

Seek the Way of the Light, Michelin Pilot Road 2's, forsake the wicked harlots whose names of Perdition are Exalto, Exclaim and Grid, they are vile handmaidens of The Devil; Lucifer's Temptresses! The End Is Near, Repent FJR CT Evil Doers, Turn Back from the Gates of Hell!

Oh, now I know I want to go to the dark side. Beemerdons will start passing the collection plate and asking for volunteers as alter boys any minute. Beware of men seeking altar boys.

https://tinyurl.com/lonbry Strong argument, however Ecclesiastes 1:17 Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.

so really it doesn't matter in the end ;)

Beware of FALSE Prophets.... and Drunk beemer riders from AZ..... :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I've read a good portion of this thread, and I' considering the darker path. I read somewhere that the CT outweighs a MT by about 10 pounds. I know that unsprung weight affects acceleration and handling, but the question is how much? Anybody ever dyno test a FJR with a CT? Another thought: how does this affect the lifespan of the rear shock?

Gary in Tampa
@Gary - Yes, it does affect acceleration, but it's not horrrendous. Ride back to back FJRs, one with, one w/o the CT and you will notice it. The shock does get a harder work out. If you have a worn shock, it's going to be worse with the CT. This has been noticed before and mentioned. Since the OEM shock is not rebuildable and costs too much to bother buying as a replacement, most people simply go to the aftermarket shock and are fine with the CT then. I have over 40k on my last rebuild of a Wilbers and the CT doesn't seem to be causing me to need rebuilds sooner than the moto tire use did. (90k of moto use on this FJR before going CT). Do read the FAQ and some of this should be discussed there. Link on page one.

@Floridave - Looking good!

Guys, right now I'm on the Carnival Victory departing St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands so more replies will have to wait until I get back home. See some of you at White Stag, I hope. BTW, I proposed to my honey on Sat and she accepted, so I may be a little distracted for a while. Lots of stuff going on in my life. :)

Congrats to you and commiseration to your honey. I'm sure she could have done better...

Don, if you happen to go on TV with your own revival show just don't go down in flames from banging your secretary on her office desk. B)

Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart and Rev. Papa Chuy Viejo do have a thing for red headed church secretary's with giant knockers, pounding them on the parish desk. Amen!

Please help me out here Zorlac, I've been drinking Maker's Mark with rushes for the last 6 hours: Have I posted anything off the wall, unusual, odd or out of the ordinary?

I was just reading a few of the very first posts from this thread, and I realize this "Experiment" has been going on for over 2 years. There are now over 40 converts to the dark side, and at least as far as I have been able to find, there has not been one, not a single ONE, report of damage to the bike, or an accident caused by changing over to a car tire. I think it is safe to say this "Experiment" is a major success.

BTW, I proposed to my honey on Sat and she accepted, so I may be a little distracted for a while. Lots of stuff going on in my life. :)

I saw the change of status on her facebook page; congratulations! Looking forward to meeting you both @ GBU in July (my very first rally!).

Dunno if I'll be a darksider by then, but maybe...

+1, Gunny; Well Stated TriggerT, Papa Chuy is in full agreement with you! I have read ever one of these posts over the last two years, I find them mesmerizing: Like watching a train wreck in slow motion or watching "Jersey Shore" to see Italianos in their natural habitat! I also strongly feel that a car tire is safe and that this is no longer an Experiment, but instead is a proven FACT! In just the first few pages you can tally up over 100K worth of miles driven by these silly mooks and with not a single safety incident.

I mean you have Brodie FJR center punching elk and pickup trucks, but that is just Brodie's personal "thing" and was not influenced by the car tire on the rear of his FJR.

If I was inclined to put a car tire on the back of my Miss Lucy Liu, the safety equation would not even enter into my decision making process. Being in a "Club" with doctor J, RadioHowie, Bustanut joker, FJRob1300 and Brian as Members would give me serious pause though!

That was like a kiss from your cousin. Talk about a back-handed compliment. Well done.
