Upon registering for NAFO I decided to look up some statistics on crime and what not. I couldn't believe they had such a big problem with street gangs up there! And I thought it was such a safe place to visit!

Might try to meet up in Bend unless you leave early like last time :p and I didn't catch up until you stopped for breakfast. There may be some others on the same route. I'll reserve a room in Spokane.

If anybody needs service stuff I'm just a half hour south of Bend.

I will be playing leap frog with you all. Tuesday into Weed, Wed to Kennewick and Thursday on to Castlegar.

After that I am debating Hyder, AK or turning South to the Going to the Sun and back via Twin Falls, etc.

Time will tell (and what my "puppy" body says)

Keep the rubber side down and watch for them 4 legged things.

There is a number of good places in Bend including a Black Bear Diner just up the street from your motel.

The best place is thirty miles south in Lapine. People come from all around to eat at the Harvest Depot. You could always spend the night at the Best Western in Lapine and make it easy.

While I'm at it if you change your route slightly and stay on 395 in Alturas and go through lakeview and then take 31 to Lapine you save a few miles and avoid the boredom of 97 north of Klamath Falls. It's a fun fast route once you are north of Lakeview.

unfortunately the motel we booked in Bend (at least mine) is nonrefundable......

I did not say, we did not like dump dive inns. those places you mentioned are to high class for me any way, I just dont fit in and besides when I go to dump dives I make the people there feel like they are royalty, because when they look at me they say who let him in here, we dont allow that low of class people in this dump, how is my speeeling so fer, k i recken. and that dump days inn in bend is just Perfect
