SOLD
First person to see it bought it! Got my asking price too!
I was told the new owner was happy with his purchase and that he said it looked better than the pictures. He really wanted the red – like many of us did.
I have been on the forum since 2010 but I didn’t post much – not much to...
I only put a couple hundred miles on the FJR in 2017. The plan was to do a vacation trip down south. I put on the new PR4s in preparation. But the trip fell through. I did get to do an adventure trip on Super T at least.
After owing an FJ type bike since 1987, I am finally letting go of my 2014 FJR.
This is a consignment sale at my dealer. The bike is currently at my residence. I will bring it to the dealer (and leave it there) once there is an inquiry. My dealer is/was moving inventory around and needed...
+1 Air Hawk
The R model sounds like it may be the ticket for the FJR. I think I might have to upgrade.
Bought mine awhile ago before the R model came out. I have a medium cruiser size. Would not go on a long ride without it.
The key is not too much air - only enough to raise your butt off...
Lucas at Tankslapper will hook you up. The first piece of 3M I put on the chin faring did not come out like I wanted. I called Lucas and he sold me another piece + several others that I wanted to do-over. The second time, I took the chin faring off the bike to do it - much better. The chin...
Yes, I also cut pieces of small tubing so as to not damage the edge.
I also put some 3M film go under the straps. I have a Tank Slapper 3M kit on many parts of the bike. Under the bag base is completely covered by 3M film. I had to make some custom pieces to fill in where the standard kit...
Just got back from a 2000 mile ride and have the new Yamaha tank bag system.
Pros:
Zippers worked fine - no failures - same quality as my last Yamaha bag.
No major interference with steering - only minor at extremes. I have the MV adapter and not a problem.
Good solid mount - does not move...
I need a bit of help please.
I am almost finished with the install of the 3M total kit from Tankslapper. The 3M is a challenge to work with.
When I try to lay out the two pieces on each saddlebag, I can't for the life of me make it work. It looks like the two pieces butt together on a...
My Yamaha dealer takes good care of me (been going there for over 30 years).
He would not have sold it to me if he thought there would be any chance of a problem. Damage was only cosmetic. They know me well and went over that bike with a fine tooth comb. They also do good work. Yamaha paid...
Picked up my new 14ES today.
It had been at my dealer waiting for me. Stopped by the dealership, after a month long trip out of the country for work, to see it - only to find it in the shop on the lift all torn apart. Turns out, it was damaged during shipping and they had just gotten the...
Can you please comment on the scratch potential of this design? If it does not move at all and is very secure, then even if dirt does get underneath, it should not be a problem.
Any issues with getting the base wet - like an all day ride in the rain? Do you have to take the base off...
Sorry Wlfman that I sent you down the wrong path. I did not know what the "mounting base" was. Like most things, it sounded great in the brochure.
After seeing your pics (thanks), I am not sure if I want to try this tank bag. I would still have to put down the 3M film, which I was trying to...
I just saw this on the Yamaha site:
https://www.yamahapartsandaccessories.com/product/details/fjr-touring-tank-bag?b=Street+Motorcycle&d=28|28
I need to find out more about the mounting system. But looks interesting and the price isn't too outragous.
I have the Canadian Yamaha FJR magnetic...
