    Going back to an FJR

I am considering a similar move. Sold my '07 (miss Draco a lot), and since have had Multistrada and 1200 GS as my longer-distance/grown up bikes. One reason was more time riding on dirt roads. What I've learned, however, is that the dirt roads I ride on are (except in mud season) pretty much...

    Venting About Winter!

I've been holding off riding this past weekend in Connecticut because they put a ton of that road brine down. We got no rain, and there's none anticipated for at least a week. Which really sucks as this next weekend is supposed to be nice. Am I being overly paranoid about the road crap and...

    FJR lean angle

No reason you can't work on technique to hang off (and thus decrease lean) on an FJR. It works well at the Total Control course -- I've done it -- and the riding techniques they teach there translate well to the Feejer. Unless you're truly a daredevil, that should take care of most scraping...

    Revzilla Customer Service

Excellent customer service. Highly recommended for users. Very dangerous for bank accounts (too much good stuff!)

    2012 Yamaha YZF-R1

That was a bit hokey. It doesn't look like they had any intel -- they just made up their wish list.

    AE Slow Rides

Thanks. Can't you shift with your foot as well? I was figuring if I go this route (ie, if my thumb doesn't improve), I could use my foot similarly to what I do now.

    AE Slow Rides

(sorry in advance if this has been covered before -- just send me to the right thread (I did search)). I presently ride my '07 FJR, and love it. I recently had a crash which dislocated my left thumb (among other things), and while it's perhaps too soon to tell, I'm concerned that it's function...

My cost effective solution to the lack of helmet hangers

Our state requires that you get a gunlock when you buy a gun. Given that I use a safe, they've always been superfluous. BUT, the cable kind work great to lock up a helmet.

    2012 Yamaha YZF-R1

You know, I've been looking seriously at this (sat on one at local MC show yesterday), but all the writeups say that the heat from the exhaust is brutal on the thighs and other parts. Anyone know if there's any aftermarket solution to that, as I really don't feel like getting fried by a...

    Winterizing: Sta-Bil/Lucas Safeguard Ethanol Treatmetn

I'm obviously over-thinking this -- I saw the "Marine" Sta-Bil and figured that only Popeye could use it.

    Winterizing: Sta-Bil/Lucas Safeguard Ethanol Treatmetn

Interesting -- didn't see that at the local Autozone. I guess the question is -- will my idea of Sta-Bil plus the Lucas stuff take care of it? Thanks. (Oh, and Scott/USN -- understand what you're saying re removing the gas. Thing is: there have been times when the roads dry out/clear up...

    Winterizing: Sta-Bil/Lucas Safeguard Ethanol Treatmetn

While I know the "right thing" to do is to remove all gas from system when winterizing, I expect I'm with the "99%" who look instead to put fuel stabilizer in, esp. if one hopes to ride again within a few months. Historically, the choice for this is Sta-Bil. But, in looking at its container, I...

What's a great little stablemate for the FJR

I'm enjoying my Aprilia Dorsduro 750. Not for the short of stature, however.

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

It would be interesting to run a poll to find out for everyone who has brought in their bike for the recall, which had no spider problems, and which had spider problems. Might give us on the Forum a better sense of how widespread it was. Just a suggestion.

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

From a legal standpoint, if Craigslist has that notice, and you list a recalled item without fully disclosing that the recall has not been done, the buyer could legitmately assume that any recalls were done. If, later on, the buyer found out it wasn't . . . :angry2:
