Guys, I wrecked one of my other bikes (a bandit) about 2.5 years ago. Needless to say that I took a break from riding and let all my bikes sit for nearly 3 years. They have sat in my garage and I live in central Texas - at least they have not been outside. One of those bikes is my 2007 FJR...

I have not been here in a while but I ended up fixing my front-end wobble problem. First I tried to rebalance the stock tire and that didn't fix it. Then I bought a new tire (Shinko Raven) - still didn't fix it. Dismounted/reassembled the entire front end and suspension - still didn't fix it...

Same thing happened to me today. Searched all my manuals and found no mention of an alarm or warning buzzer. Got on the forum and did a search for my problem. Bingo... the answer to my question in 10 minutes or less.

Hence, an advantage over a normal floor jack with a 12" scrap 2X4.

I ended up getting a pro-lift (Direct lift) with an XLT kit. It was delivered yesterday and I spent a little time today setting it up. I'll post a couple photos when its ready. Thanks for all the input. Dave

This is something that I've wanted to do for years. Lifes responsibilities seem to always get in the way and I'm NOT getting any younger. My uncle did it when he was 65, so I've still got some time. :unsure:

Ian, I see that lift is only 78" long. Any problems with fitting the FJR on it? How long have you had it? How would judge its build quality? I went buy my Harbor Freight store and they had some in stock but not one on the floor for me to look at. I could get one of those for about 420 OTD...

I need to readjust my forks in the tripple clamp. Most bikes I've had require that the top surface of the fork be a couple mm above the top surface of the triple clamp. I looked at the owners manual for the FJR and it appears to say that the top surface of the fork should be flush with the top...

I've had numerous sets (009 Ravens) on my hopped up Bandit and they have been great. I do things on that bike that I wouldn't attempt on the FJR. I'm going to try a set on my FJR next as I already have a spare set in stock.

Sounds like you need to take the young man fishing. That would be my recommendation.

I've used the Napa gold filters on my bandit for years. They are good filters. Not sure about the fitment issue on the FJR but they are good quality.
