Saw an FJR today, a bit confused though

That's OK, the blue ones are slow anyway ;)

Saw an FJR today, a bit confused though

I was returning from my daughters soccer game driving east on I235 in Des Moines when I see ahead an FJR. As I closed the distance I see it's blue, as I get closer preparing to give the rider a thumbs up I then realize that the rider is wearing pink fishnets and looks to be not wearing pants...

I took my FJR to a Harley dealer open house party yesterday

Wait. You live in Delavan, Wisconsin and went to a Harley dealer not expecting this? Your 50 miles west on I-43 to birthplace of "The Hog". Uh, come on, even given that the typical Lifestyle™ rider wont take the chrome pig out in less than idea conditions you literally in the heart of the beast...

ABS engaging more often -- is that indicating pad wear?

Well I got a flashlight and took a look, from what I could tell the pads have plenty of life left so I'm not worried. The bike will be heading to the dealer for a once over here before my big ride in June so I'll mention it then as well.

ABS engaging more often -- is that indicating pad wear?

That thread describes pretty much exactly what I'm experiencing.

ABS engaging more often -- is that indicating pad wear?

The feeling is in my hand so the front brakes. I'm not panic stopping, or waiting until the last second to brake just a normal stop but I feel what seems to be ABS pulsing. I'll look at the pads and see what I can. I'll admit that I've not done much with brakes on any vehicle aside from my Mtn...

ABS engaging more often -- is that indicating pad wear?

Not always but more often when coming to a stop it feels like the ABS is engaging on a normal, non-panic stop. Just a little vibration in the lever but enough to know that it's the ABS kicking on. Short of something else is this indicative of wearing/worn pads? I have an '07 bought in '09 with...

    helmet/glasses

Bell Star, Arai Signet GTR, Icon Something or other, I've never had an issue riding with glasses and a helmet. I don't like contacts and I can't afford Lasik so I don't have much choice. I ended up getting a tinted shield for my Bell and that is so much nicer than having to swap out to...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

Got my bike back yesterday, the actual mechanic was very cool but the counter lady was kinda bitchy. The gist of the problem was that the dealer found that I needed the high altitude ECU recall done as well as the partial harness recall but never once called me to talk to me about it, never once...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

So I posted earlier that I dropped my bike off on the 22nd of July and I wrote that I needed the full harness recall. I called again today and asked for an ETA, the parts dept. is closed on Mondays so they couldn't provide any information other than they were waiting on parts. I decided to call...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

Mine went in last Friday, need the full harness recall, parts have been ordered just waiting until tomorrow to find out how long to ship. While her clothes are off the dealer is wiring in a battery tender relay for me as well. Don't have enough miles on to do any other maintenance at this point.

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

I made my appointment for the 22nd, dealer didn't know about the recall prior to me calling. The lady was very nice and helpful she said that she would have her service manager look into the recall and parts availability so that I wouldn't be without my bike unnecessarily. Cool thing was is that...

Using an iTouch as a GPS unit?

Sounds like you have your solution figured out but I'd thought I'd throw mine in for fun. I've been using my iPhone, first a 3G and now a 4, with the appropriate RAM mount. I bought the Navigon app as it loads all the maps into memory, takes up 1.2Gb for the entire US mapset. I mount the phone...

    New boots for Sasquatch

Size 14's here, I wear a pair of Oxtar (now TCX?) boots. There aren't a whole lot a MC specific boots above 14 so I can't imagine that your going to have any luck finding something in a 16. Tried the local Harley dealer?

    Trip to Indy .....Moto GP

Having been to the F1 race every year until they canceled it, if they use the same track layout then you want to be what would be considered turn 4 for the Indy500. I'd like to think it was section 'J' but that could be wrong, regardless the higher up you get the better as you can see more...

    State Decals

I don't collect stickers but I do try to find metal hat pins from places I've ridden to, then I dremel off the mount post and epoxy them onto my Givi v46 topcase: The Ferrari shield and Ducati pin are there from when I was in Italy and visited the Ferrari museum and Ducati factory. I would...
