    Backrest

Thanks. It was obvious my wife wasn't gonna cooperate with not kicking them to death every time she got on and off. Had to either buy a body shop or make sure she couldn't destroy them.

    Backrest

For those of you that want a backrest but not a trunk here's my rendition. And painting the bags solved the problem of my wifes heels scuffing the paint. It's just Valspar premium flat black from lowes. Super durable and I can touch it up if it gets scuffed in minutes. Let it dry overnight and...

    Old people and great rides

Jusy got back from a wonderful ride, Done it many times but they just repaved Hiway 77 from Guthrie to Mulhall in Oklahoma. It's sticky and very smoothe. Scared myself a few times but my rider never knew it. I love this motorcycle. Gene

    FJR Top speed.

Yea I can feel it around 9.5 in every gear but 4th and 5th. My Gps reads 161 topped out but it seems like it would pull on out to 165 if it didn't hit that wall. oh well who cares it does everyhing so well that no single thing can lower it's fun as hell factor. gene

    FJR Top speed.

For the first time since I got my 07 ae new in 2010 I finally got 1500 miles on it. Shoulder injury sidelined me for 2 years. I had a chance to run it out and it pulled all the way to 140 in 4th gear. By my calculations this thing ought to run close to or over 165 but mine just quits at 150 It...

Testing the waters to see if it's worth it.

I have a 2007 FJR1300AE and I can no longer ride it due to a shoulder surgery that went wrong. I'm thinking about parting it out as the economy is so bad that selling it will be a loss to me. This bike is like new with 1400 miles on it and I bought it last December as a new leftover on the...

    Request for advice

Well if you grab the brakes on a GenII abs hard enough they will be smashed against the tank  And when you whack the throttle they will be drug back across the textured :cray: seat at high speed So yea. They probably would fall off after that. :bye2: Course we are plagued with...

    Request for advice

I wasn't sure I would like the AE either but after a few miles in town I love it. All balls powershifting is pretty mushy but with some slight throttle work mine will shift as fast as or faster than I can. Just remember that if you are a stoplight "revver" it don't work well on this thing :o
