What did you do to your FJR today?

Installed the PIAA Sports horns, Grip Puppies, and a Sargent seat. The hoes on the right do get a little horny if I turn too tight. Nothing hits the forks though...

Cee Bailey reverse flip for 6 footer?

Well Ulewz, what do you think of your choice? I'm torn too, being 6'0" and reading thru all these threads.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Ok, so on day 1.5 of ownership, I'm still doing some small tasks to get things up to par. Set idle to 1100 RPM's Installed OES frame sliders (std size with white logo) Then I came inside to take a Norco and am feeling pretty good right now :)

    The Saga Begins

Yup - that's exactly what mine looks like. I didn't question the salesman about it because I was thinking of 101 other things. I did a google search and found one other smaller image of what appeared to be like yours and mine, so I was half hoping it was "normal" even though it appears to have...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Yeah - silly stuff about always wearing a helmet and not using abrasive crud on the windshield. And I sure hit a nerve with Howie on that one, so I guess I'll have to apologize for being out of line. The main point was clearly missed - I noticed others posting here when they took delivery of...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Brought it home from the dealer and then peeled off the two warning stickers with the help of my wife's hair dryer.

    The Saga Begins

My new 2012 FJR is home, safe and sound :) I'll post pics later to conclude this chapter, but before that I noticed that the gear indicator is missing a small section of the border just above the lower left corner. Is that normal for the Gen 2s? Also, at first the bike stalled out after a...

Thanks! That seems to be the consensus here. I have also decided that I'll be transporting the side cases in the back seat for the ride home.

Well I was dead wrong. I cannot stop thinking (worrying) about getting it home safely on a trailer. The sales dude at the dealershiop says that the Canyon Dancer is the way to go, but some of the things I've read on here make me question that. Especially with the heated grips.

    The Saga Begins

Part of the reason was that I wanted to make sure my leg was going to mend properly. I just started walking again on Monday, so the bike will be trailered back to my house tomorrow. I know I probably could have gotten a better deal, but I liked how this dealer answered my questions and still...

    The Saga Begins

Well, it's down to one more work day before picking up the new bike on Friday. Cashiers check in hand, insurance locked in, and ready to go! Tomorrow is going to be a long day :( I'm running out of things to think of or do in preparation for the big day. Maybe I'll go charge up the battery...

I found one and bought it

Congrats! I'll be picking up my 2012 next week so I can join this cool club :)

Good point on the D&H tax-free option. And I do have a quote saved and ready to go with Progressive right now. They were a pain in the ass to deal with on the claim for my previous bike, but they are MUCH cheaper than the next closest option.

Hey - look at all these Michiganders :) Tech Day sounds like a great idea (did a forum search). I'm not very mechanically savvy, but I could bring some of my almost world famous home brew to contribute to the event.

And my first farkle has arrived! The ones that so many recommend that you do before anything else are sitting on a shelf in the garage in anticipation of the FJR coming home. Yes, the OES frame sliders are here and already starting to get lonely. Shhh...there there now. It will be here...

    The Saga Begins

I will more than likely end up purchasing one for peace of mind. If the dealer will match the D&H price, I'll buy it when I pick up the bike. Otherwise, I do like the option of being able to purchase it at a known price elsewhere. Plus, it takes any and all sales pressure away when it gets to...

    Yamaha Dealers

When I was looking to buy my 2012, I saw they had one listed on CycleTrader.com, so I inquired about it. Didn't even get a response from these guys!

    The Saga Begins

Today happens to be frame slider ordering day. I'm looking at the OES, but having difficulty deciding between the regular and the extended style. A couple searches seem to indicate that most recently, folks have been ordering the extended OES sliders. I want protection but I don't want it to...
