    New suspension settings

Went on a 300mi run yesterday through the hills of NC and noticed handling wasn't as smooth as I'd have like with lots of nose diving and not as easy to control as I'd like in the twisties. Switched all my settings over to JeffAshe's last night and went out for a couple hours today and wow what...

    Scorpion Helmets

I've had a 400 for about a couple years now and use it exclusively. I agree that it's not the quietest helmet on the planet, but good bang for the buck. I love being able to change shields while the helmet is on my head in under 10 secs flat. The interior is nice as well, and I don't find the...

    2006 Speedo innacurate?

Thanks for the prompt/courteous replies! I did a few searches before posting the question but obviously didn't use the correct terms to find the answer.

    2006 Speedo innacurate?

Once I started riding with a GPS, I noticed there was a big discrepency between by MPH on the GPS and the FJR speedo. I tested it in 2 of my cars and the GPS is dead-on accurate when cruising down the highway at a fixed speed. However, same conditions on the FJR yield a 3-4 MPH difference (GPS...

Garmin Zumo 550 gets a update!

I put this on my Zumo 550 the a day or two after it was released and I'm glad they addressed a few of my complaints. Main thing I love from this update is the ability to pan the map while in the middle of a route from the main map screen. It's been stable so far. Anyone tried an 8GB SDHC card...

    Considering move to NC

Wow, fellow Rocky Mounter eh? I was born and raised there. Live in the Charlotte area now though. Not too far to get to the mountains with lots of great riding, but still in a big city...

Question about Zumo and SD cards

Out of the box there's a little less than 200MB free on the Zumo (or at least there was on mine), so you can put some tunes on there if you want, but I left that space for other stuff (POIs, maps, routes, pictures for startup-banners, etc) You can mix and match on it. The Zumo is good about...

    Scored a Motoport

Looks like that's their 1000 dernier Codura product (the Ultra II jacket) vs. the kevlar stuff. Still, that's a good price considering it's about half of the cost of a new one. Gratz on the find!

    Best company in No. Carolina?

Based on your location in your profile I'm assuming that was a quote for IN? Per the suject of the thread, we were talking about rates in NC and I can attest that Progressive was pretty outrageous for the FJR here in NC and SC.

    Garmin Zumo 550

Ssswweeett! You're right, it works. I had always read that it wasn't supported and took it at face value. I'll ammend my original post...

    Garmin Zumo 550

I've had my Zumo 550 for a few weeks now and have been keeping some notes on it and thought I'd pass them along to other potential buyers. Let me start off by saying overall I love this unit. If I were shopping for one for just my car this wouldn't have been my 1st choice. But for water-proof...

    GPS Mounting Location

I just recently got a Zumo 550 and mounted it on the stem nut and love it. Cheap option too. It's exactly the right location for me; just below the instrument panel, but still in your field of vision while wearing a full-face helmet. I'm using it with a set of the Etymotic er6i earbuds for...

Helmet Locks - Got an opinion?

I put a pair of these on mine a few weeks ago and really like them.

    Cycleport

Hmm, then that explains why mine has the China lables in them. Mine were standard sizes with slight alterations to the jacket.

    Cycleport

The lables in my stuff all say made in China and the fit/finish/etc was all fine and equivalent to everything i've read about their gear.

    GPS Mounting Location

That's the option I went with as well. Just mounted it all up last night. I'll be doing a test-run with it this weekend and will let you know.

Lost my virginity today in a parking lot.

Ugh... I did that about a month ago on mine and it's funny how our scars look exaclty the same. Weird thing is I had no sliders at the time. I've since added them though. I guess I was luckier than I thought to have such little damage without them. I feel your pain!

    Cycleport

Yep, for me anything below 70 degree days require an extra layer or the windproof liners in them. They really do flow a lot of air.
