    Moto GP Laguna-Seca roll call

I'll be there as part of a 6 bike, 8 person group. We are camping at Big Sur just south of Monterey on the 1. Now, if only I can figure out how to pack 2 tents, three sleeping bags, three sleep pads, a small cooler, clothing, etc. all while riding with a pillion. At least its not fox hill again...

For those who suspected Rossi of not being human...

Their math is a bit off from what was posted above, but this is from my corkscrew newsletter from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. ROSSI BACK? Valentino Rossi rode a motorcycle for the first time today since breaking his right leg at Mugello on 5th June. He rode a total of 26 laps at Misano on a...

Add your wife and save $$

Hmmm....my Geico is up for Renewal, so I checked it out, and did not get the same results. Geico 1 year (2 motorcycles): $412 Progressive without wife: $525 Progressive WITH wife: $825 Now, to be fair, my wife does not ride, does not have her endorsement, etc. Geico still the lowest. Full...

    Dragging feet

Since I got my AE a couple years ago, I can count on zero fingers how many times I have had to put my toe underneath the shift lever (that is, once I remembered to turn that damn shift light back on). I have very average size 10 feet, but for some reason the angle and clearance seems tight to me...

    Commuter Tips and Tricks

I would think even better advice would be to always EXPECT the UNEXPECTED, not that I think anyone does that 100% of the time. I've only been riding about 17 years, so some of you have a great deal more experience than I do, but I think a mental reminder to myself to go through sure couldn't...

    First 300+ Mile Ride

Well, for those of us who haven't mastered "Yoda", or any other Zen techniques to ignore your body sending messages to STOP... Weighted bar Ends make all the difference in the buzzin you get which can cause that "loss of feeling" in the hands. I have the heavy version of these...

    Question for AE owners

I have an 06 AE, and I have never experienced anything like you described. Most of the time I am not giving it much opportunity to warm up either. Then again, the temperature around here is usually pretty warm. I will have to pay close attention the next time I am riding in colder weather.

    SICK of this bike!!

At the risk of NOT following the dogpile thats going on here, it would seem that while our FJR's don't "suck" for us, her FJR definitely "sucked" for her. There are many variables that have made this a reality for her. While obviously height is a huge contributing factor for her, many have...

People are trying to kill me!!!!

+1 I read this story, and I try to ask myself how I could have responded differently if it were me. The truth is, I would have done everything you did EXCEPT pull into the Oyster bar, which I think was the wiser thing to do compared to my idea. I can't help to also think of the "what if's" as...

GrandPrix / MotoGP / Laguna Seca

We Will be riding from the 126 in Valencia, through Ojai up into Santa Barbara, then Highway 1 all the way to Salinas. There are 6 of us going (three adults, three kids). We go every year. Looking forward to it!

    More than one bike?

Had a BMW f 650 fun as hell, no power, but never felt like I was gonna drop her in a parking lot. You think comparing a 650 to an FJR shows how much power the feejer has, but the new addition to our stable, a ninja 250 for my 15 and a half year old son feels like a bicycle with a lawnmower...

    We Lost A Great Friend

As a long time "lurker", I never met Tim, but I feel like I knew him all the same. I appreciated his humor, and his priceless contribution to this group of people. I know this place will not be the same without him.

    Bullet Bike?

Quote: "The police say the man is lucky to be alive, especially because he wasn't wearing a helmet or a shirt! Yeah, I cannot tell you how many times my wife-beater t-shirt has saved me during a crash!

    Riding with kids

I have a 14, 12, 8, and 5 year old (all boys). Legally, here in Kaleeefornia, there are no age restrictions, but they must be able to touch both footrests. All three of the older ones have ridden pillion on short, around town trips, with the exception of the 12 year old, who rode pillion on a 6...

    Wifes first bike!

Man. That makes me wish I had not sold my F650. That is a fun "flick and go" bike. After pushing around the Feejer, the BMW feels like nothing, and handles great. It just did not get ridden enough once I got the FJR! I really wish I had it back though!

2008 Black FJR + Remus Hexacone

I can answer that, as I have the same thing. Yes, those are the Yamaha Gel Seats. They ARE more comfortable than the stock ones, but nothing to write home to ma about. I am still planning a trip to Ojai, CA to get a custom made one (when there is money back in the farkling coffers, that is).

    AE????????

I Love mine. If I were to need to replace the bike, I would prefer an AE now that I have experienced it. It is easier to shift while in a lean, and I actually always up-shift with the left hand, while down-shifting with the left foot. It took me about 10 minutes to get used to (if that).

Yet another Starcom Question!! What do you think?

I bought the earphone set as well. Honestly, never again. For me the female stereo connector would NOT stay plugged in to the earphones, and would constantly fall out. I eventually soldiered a different connector onto it, and went with helmet speakers after all. This now has me worried because...
