If Yamaha/FJR listened to its customers..

It's been a long time since I posted, just been busy riding my 07 FJR and working. The topic here interests me because the local dealer has been trying to get me on several bikes other than the FJR that he sold me 4 years and 24,000 miles ago. I've owned a few bikes over the years, Suzuki X6...

    Sw-Fog 2011

Hwy 191 ( road of 10,000 curves) at the tail end of the Monsoon, thunder amd lightning. Lots of great roads around including 77 and 180. Springerville is great.

    Next WFO?

The year WFO was in Park City, Utah seemed like a pretty central location with plenty of mountain roads in the area. It would seem that it's equidistant from most cities. I signed up and paid but had a work emergency that trumped the vacation. Just my 2 cents.

    VFR1200

Yesterday I stopped by my local bike dealer. There was one lone silver FJR on the floor and I commented to the owner and salesman that I thought the FJR was Yamaha's best kept secret. I bought my 2007 from them new and after 21,000 miles I have little to complain about, the FJR does everything I...

    Yamaha Announces 2011 FJR

If you go on to the web you can find sh_t loads of 2010 FJRs. I'm a small business owner and the economy has forced me to limit the amount of new products we had planned to introduce this next year. 2009 and 2010 sucked as far as sales went. It costs us about $20-30K to introduce a new product...

    Yamaha Announces 2011 FJR

 You got it right. Dealer told me that the US economy was too unpredictable.

    PCIII & Wallies Smoothness

I've run both. Just wondered if someone had worked on one with a little more attitude. Thanks!

    PCIII & Wallies Smoothness

Has anyone come up with a "performance" PCIII map? I've been running Wally's and it's nice and smooth but was wondering if someone had done some work on the performance end. AZ

Sell the FJR, or will a PCIII fix the throttle?

Like everyone said. You've done everything except the most important, the PC-III. The other thing you should do is download the smoothness map for the PC. There is one on this site that is for Gen-II bikes and that's the one that makes the FJR really a wonderful bike to ride. Another thing is to...

    Bridgestone Battlax BT-021

Jeff, Thanks for the information I thought I was losing my mind, well maybe partly. The "trapezoidal" shape is exactly what I have on the front BT021. I thought the tire was defective but after reading your report I can now see that it's the roads I have near my home that are either flat ass...

    Body Panels

Thanks for the posts. The dash panels are easy. In response to the removal of the top and dash panels on the Gen II bikes there are two of the "snap" pins on the inside between the panel and the forks. I use a small Allen wrench and push the center of the pin to release it and then pull it out...

    Body Panels

Help! I have the Yamaha Shop Manual. Compared to the Honda manual it's pretty vague and missing a lot of detail. I was trying to remove the body panels and the top right panel to repair some scratches. Man, what a PITA. I can get to most of the fasteners except for one down in the nose of the...

    Memorial Services for OrangevaleFJR

I've been on travel the last couple of weeks and didn't know that Andrew passed. Sherri, I don't know you or your family but my thoughts and prayers are with you from down here near the border. God bless all of you and I hope that the pain of the loss will be replaced with the fondness of...

    Old topic new comment

 Took the trusty Black Cherry in and Cochise Motor Sports swapped out the CPU for the new and improved CPU, at no charge. Have been riding it now for about 1000 miles and the difference is wonderful. Not only does my FJR not stutter and stumble when changing altitude but the overall fuel...

    Honda ST1300 vs. Yamaha FJR1300

Owned both. ST1300: Glass smooth. High torque V-4. Rode like my grandpa's Packard and felt about as heavy. Heat fried my ass off above 85F. FJR: Lighter, faster and feels a lot more nimble in the curves. A bit buzzy aroung 4K but not bad. Rides cool even in 100F weather. Glad I made the trade...

Changing Gears without using the clutch

That's why they put the extra lever on the left, just to balance out the bars. Can't wait to see the post under technical problems in a few..........."noise coming from tranny. What's the problem?" :dribble: My son drives a semi and only uses the clutch at stops but he's a professional. Use...

    FJRF004: The 2006/7 Altitude Fix

Guess I'm fortunate that the dealer in my area is honest and has integrity. When I first noticed the altitude problem in May on my trip to Mojave he listened attentively and never once doubted what I had experienced on the FJR going up the backside of Crestline. A few weeks later he called me...

    Tire pressure embarrassment

I've had the new Bridgestone 021's on for about 900 miles now and noticed a hum from the front tire at about 250 miles. Then slowly the bike started acting like the tire had flat spots on it. I noticed that it bobbled a bit going into corners and seemed like my wonderful hi-performance tires...

Why is nothing wrong with my bike?

Ha! Bob, opened my side case last night when I got home and pulled out the lock with the key. When I lifted the handle the screws fell out. NO LOCTITE! Took the case to the dealer as my hex torx drives would not work (tamper proof screws). Anyhow the mechanic and I put Humpty Dumpty back...

    Questions about the FJR

I live in SE Arizona. I had an ST "nard roaster" and my wife did not like the pillion seat. I got the FJR and it rides very cool even in 107F heat. My wife says the pillion seat on the FJR is more comfortable. Love this bike! AZ
