    Quick and easy??

I am not sure what your battery tender leads have on the ends but assume one end is ring lugs that attach to the battery and the other probably the universal type connector that has a male and female plug. If that is the case, I had a similar problem when I picked up my 2005. I had to remove the...

Oil leak from hole in driveshaft cover

Hey thanks bounce. The article shows the problem in nice detail. I will remove the shaft when I change the tire this winter. The leak is not bad just enough to leave a few drops on my garage floor.

Oil leak from hole in driveshaft cover

I have a very gradual drip coming out of a small weephole in the bottom of the driveshaft cover near the rear end. I suspect an oil seal either in the rear end or the front of the driveshaft. Has anyone had a similar problem? It is about time to change the tires so will fix the problem at the...

    K12

I rode my brother in law's K1200S two weeks ago on a 5 hour ride. It is FAAAAASSSST and really handles the twisties at a decent speed. It is a little flakey at low speeds and tends to wander. IMO it would smoke the FJR in a race with equally good riders.

    Helmet funk

An old biker technique is to stuff the helmet with newspapers that have been wadded up -- it is claimed to soak the funk out of the helmet. Never tried it myself, but I am not funky as a rule :) .

    Throttle body sync question

That is correct ! The idea is to make all four cylinders the same. Also, the book says to sync them with #3 cylinder. So the ideal way is to get the highest vacuum possible on #3 and then sync the others to it.

    The Heat is Tamed!

Which hand wing did you buy? I went on the Baker web site and they have a bunch of different models listed but none of the wings look exactly like the one you posted. Also, the mounting hardware - was it included with the wings? :dribble:

    Reversed Shift FJR (GP Pattern)

What I would really like to see is a rocker shifter like my wife's cruiser. It is really easy to use the heel to upshift versus the toe. What advantage is it to racers to push up to downshift ? :(

Two questions - Vista Cruise, and throttle springs...

I can't believe more of you guys did not install the audiovox CCS-100 electronic cruise control. It works fantastically well just like a car cruise control. It is one of the first things I put on my '05. I have an ABS model and halfway through the installation, I realized the spot suggested for...

    These Are Kinda Noob Questions

I rode my brother in laws K1200S today and it is mind numbing and adrenaline pumping but it is not anywhere near as comfortable as my '05 FJR. I installed helibar risers as one of the first "farkles" they move the handlebars up an inch and back an inch and a half if I remember right. Anyhow, it...

    NewMex riders

Yeah, Vinnie, the SW part of Colorado is not very scenic - you probably picked the worst part. About this time last year, I rode up to Grand Junction through central Colo. and then back the next day along the Colorado River through Moab-- it was a very nice ride. Cold rain and sleet in parts of...

    NewMex riders

Great Vinnie. I just retired myself ( Jan 1) and have not missed work once. I was ready to go. There are lots of nice rides in the area as indicated in some of the other posts. Also, I like to take the Farmington - Chama - Pagosa loop. A lot a great scenery and one of the few parts of New...

    NewMex riders

Hey - I live in Farmington so have some "experience" about best times to ride. The spring here is usually windy from March to June so you can run into strong winds on occasion. April is generally beautiful weather for riding and the summer is nice but can get in the mid nineties from June...

    '06 FJR or K12GT?

Hey, that's a LOGO - sure it is round but seriously a Roundel must be something critical or why would BMW mention it more than once? Lets see........round, hemmm, maybe something to do with a round wheel.

    '06 FJR or K12GT?

What in the hell is a Roundell? This could be important, maybe we can make a group buy and put one on our FJR's - yeah then we will be as good as BMW, heck lets put 2 Roundells on our bikes.

    '06 FJR or K12GT?

My brother in law in Albuquerque got one and hated it. He went out and bought a new gold wing within a month of owning the K1200. It is for sale now if anyone is interested, he will make you a good deal - it has less than 1K miles on it.

Big Daddy's Bad Ass Bar Ends

I got the Top Gun bar ends from FJRgoodies.com. They cost $55 which isn't bad for a set of machined stainless bar ends. When I rode my FJR back from California, one of the stock bar ends fell off somewhere. The dealer must have forgotten to tighten it down. I'll bet Yamaha wants more than...

    Help with Suzuki 800 twin

Actually, the 2005 volusia ( now called the Boulevard C50 ) is fuel injected and shaft drive - the main reason I bought it. The FI is supposedly the same one used by the Suzuki crotch rockets, and I assume comparable to the FJR. I wonder if a power commander would help?

    Help with Suzuki 800 twin

My wife insisted on a cruiser twin for herself so we got her a Suzuki VL800 twin. It is much rougher than my FJR and does'nt warm up near as well - the fast idle is kind of funky. Does anyone have experience with these twins ? Is hers normal ? We took it to the dealer for a factory recall and...

What`s so great about these bikes?

I went to my local Yamaha dealer who is the Harley dealer for the area, and asked to order one - they never even contacted me. I finally went out to LA Yamaha in California and got one they had on the floor - they had at least 3 of them that I saw. That was a year ago this month. So obviously...
