7 FJRs it is !

And I am hoping all do well (Kinda favoring one more so

)

Will they be scored at the checkpoint (I know… dumb question, but i know not of the routine of the Lite)

Scores to be made public?

3 of those riders are gonna have to really get it to make it to the checkpoint on time…

Either something is wrong with their planning, or their Spot ... or ... do we know if there was an option to miss the checkpoint if certain bonuses were attempted?

Holy Crap! I just got back from 2 days in Galveston. I will definitely get my butt out of bed in the morning and make the check point. How cool is that!

Come to think about it, the blog did mention some riders having SPOT issues (?)

Technology, can't live with it, can't live without it.

Plus there's a lag with the chain of info that comes from the tracker to your computer screen.

Hi my names is Rick and I'm a Spotwalla-aholic, I can quit the refresh button anytime I want

Is anyone else having trouble with the Spotwalla page for this? Whenever I go to it no maps or locations are shown. Any help?

compatibility settings in tools is your friend.

Aussie Ian McPhee is out (XIP), hit a rock bent two rims and holed is sump on his BMW. he is fine and now in Gallup.

Appreciate the link and the tip. Still no go for me though. I just get a blank blue page.

I did make it to the checkpoint. Stood around and visited with some of the riders and more importantly got to geek out on the bikes. I stayed for the announcement of the top ten but did not take any notes. I guess I truly failed you guys. I didn't note them as I expected that they would get put up here right away. All I can say is the leader is way freakin' out in front by a couple thousand points. If memory serves he is over 20,000 points and the next closest is maybe 16000 and change. Just a warning my memory is not what it used to be. In the first leg there were two riders lost to accidents. Sounds like both riders will be ok. One BMW lost its final drive as well. We were at a BMW dealership when that announcement was made - that has got to hurt. Everyone I spoke to was in good spirits. A little grumbling about the heat. Lots of forest rat close calls. Now it is time to get some work done.

Troy Martin in 2nd is very impressive.

Troy recently finished 5th in the Poison Rally, and this is only his second year rallying. He rides a Triumph Trophy.

I was following some spotwalla tracks and switched to satellite view to get a better sense of what bonuses they were chasing. When I zoomed in there was some google earth weirdness south of Kerrville, TX. Take a look west of Hwy16 along FM 2107 for what looks to be a huge shadow or something? Anyone have a clue what to make of that?

The Spot icons are coded to keep the riders anonymous, announcing the codes and who they belong to makes them public. Although Ian is out already and it's makes little difference now but public disclosure of that info could cause the powers that be to shut down the SpotWalla link or even throw a rider out of the rally.

Could someone in the know go through that list and tell us how the FJRs are stacking up?
