Yep - Southerncruiser has a saying that I have stolen with reverent passion:

"Today we will ride to places and eat things!"

That's about all the planning needed.

I rode most of the same roads and places last October but I rode the '04 ST1300 while my dad rode his FJR. There are some surprisingly good roads in northwestern Arkansas. One you did not mention was the Pig Trail. I highly recommend that road, it is not as exciting as Mt. Nebo, but it is a wonderful ride on any sort of bike. I really enjoyed your report and pictures.
