Checked my coolant level today and found a large crack in the overflow tank. Anyone know what model year tanks fit a 2006? Its a California model if that makes a difference.

No difference for California. I think 2006-16 are the same.

TANK, RECOVERY

Will a tank from a Gen 1 fit a Gen 2?
The coolant tank is the same Part Number from 2006 to 2016, all USA models including California. For the new price of US$16.53 at Stadium Yamaha, I would want to buy a new one.

Stadium Yamaha often has better prices than most.

Pick your year, pick your model, and find the drawing called Radiator Hose. When you get to Index #37, Tank, Recovery, click on that Part Number to see what other Yamaha products use this same part.

The short answer to your question is No.

Happy hunting.

That is what I call a thorough and comprehensive reply. The used tanks on Ebay were more expensive. Thanks!
