ES forks, no bushings?

I was looking at the diagrams of the 14-16 ES front forks and cant see any bushings in either the outer or inner tubing. Is that right?

That is correct. It must be machined into the inside of the outer fork tube.

Not sure that I like that idea. I have replaced bushing twice, much cheaper than fork tubes.

It's hard to tell what's actually there until someone takes one apart but the C14 forks do not have a upper bushing and the fork tube will slide out the bottom without resistance to change the seals. The C14 forks do have a lower bushing which seems to be non-removable and expected to last the life of the outer fork tubes. Sounds like the ES forks are the same design......which means you have to be very careful changing the fork oil since it is very easy to separate the inner and outer fork tubes.

Not quite...... cartridges are attached at both ends, they won't come apart without toolz. If you're changing fork oil, wouldn't you want them completely apart, and new seals while you're in there?

You have to remove the fork caps and springs to change and measure the oil. The cartridges are inside the inner tubes and will stay attached at the bottom...there isn't any reason to change seals when you change fork oil. The tricky part to reattach the inner and outer tubes if they separate by accident is to avoid cutting the seals when you push the inner tube back into the outer tube.
