Long shot, but hoping...

Need front and rear wheels for a Gen II (06, AE) Mine are dented from a curb incident, and the only shop around here that COULD straighten them has a bad reputation, and wants almost what a new one would cost me to straighten these.

Thanks,

Griff

Have you tried eBay
Looking on Ebay, and elsewhere.

Apparently (thanks Iggy) I need a Mk2 ABS wheel from a 2003 to 2007.

The front isn't available to order new ... so if I can't find a used one in decent shape I may be hooped...

So far no luck...

This guy has both front and rear rims available on ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/05-FJR-1300-A-FJR1300-Yamaha-rear-back-wheel-rim-straight-/272485464780?hash=item3f71663acc:g:MckAAOSwa~BYUS4q

The ad says '05 and doesn't specify ABS but the bike in the video is a Gen II. Not sure what year (not an '07)

Edit - shipping to Canada is expensive. Better if you can pick up from a place south of the border. I use www.Kineck.com and get stuff shipped to a border town not too far from where I live. (adds $5.00 to normal US shipping. You may still have to negotiate with Canada Customs)

The Mk2 wheels with abs front and rear are available,i believe the different part number for the 06 is only for the color.

If you can't find used you can buy new from a 04/05 and you could repaint or powdercoated them to matches the originals..

The price for front and rear wheel are:about $843 for the 04 and $662 for the 05.

Thanks guys.. I grabbed the set Ross mentioned last night, getting them shipped to my mail drop in Montana and if all goes well and they are as advertised I'll be good to go.

Thanks again for the help!

Griff

I'm glad I have two sets. It's nice to know when you limp home on bent rims you have another set waiting!

I may get the busted ones fixed as well, and keep them as spares in case of another Oops! moment. I managed over 100,000 miles without it happening to the first set, so unless these things come in bunches....

Hit rocks both times in Idaho, once on Lo-Lo I bent the front and once on the Lowman Banks Rd I bent both. The first time set me up to wind up with a complete set of spares.

The best part of two set is your girl always has a new set of shoes waiting for her!

I had to do this last summer after hitting a West Virginia speed bump aka hole in the road. I just sent the bent pair to MCWheel in Tucson and got back in less than 2 weeks. I plan to keep for backup purposes and rotate out as needed.
