SOLD OUT! SATURDAY AND SUNDAY TICKETS FOR THE RED BULL U.S. GRAND PRIX

Friday Tickets Still Available For The Event

Monterey, Calif. (July 1, 2005) – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca officials announced today that tickets for Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix are no longer available for purchase through the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca ticket office. A limited number of general admission tickets will be available for sale at the official 2005 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix ticket outlets while their supplies last. Approximately 53,900 tickets have been sold to spectators for each of the weekend days.

General Admission tickets are still available for the Friday, July 8 practice day, the first opportunity for two-wheeled fans to see the MotoGP World Championship in its first appearance in the United States since 1994. Defending champion Valentino Rossi, his Yamaha teammate Colin Edwards and the rest of the MotoGP World Championship competitors will be on-track on Friday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2 p.m.-3 p.m. for practice sessions. The sold-out days include Saturday’s AMA Superbike Championship race and Sunday’s much-anticipated MotoGP World Championship race.

“With almost 150,000 people expected to be here, next week’s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will be the largest event in the 49-year history of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,” said Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of the historic track. “The combination of MotoGP, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the Monterey Peninsula has proven irresistible. Our phones have barely stopped ringing since we announced the event last August.”

Only once before has a sellout been announced at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. That was the 1998 Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races with Porsche as the event’s featured marque. That announcement was not made, however, until after a large walk-up crowd on Sunday of the event. Next weekend’s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix marks the first time a sellout announcement has been made prior to the event weekend in the 49-year history of the world-renowned circuit.

A very limited number of tickets remain at the official 2005 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix ticket outlets located around California. These tickets are available only in person. The outlets are:

After reading the list of shops that have some tickets, I have visited 3/4 of them.:reading:

I just realised I have an illness re: motorcycles.

We're leaving San Diego Thursday morning, taking the twistiest routes to Kernville. Then again on Friday, to Monterey. We have about 25 in our group going. We all bought tickets almost a year ago, the second they were available. Got the full boat jobs, Paddock, Pits, Grandstand, you name it! Woo Whoo!

We're staying at the travelodge about a mile from the track. Monday we may hit the Monterey Bay Aquarium, rated second in the world (behind Tokyo I think). Three story high aquarium open to the sea, waves crashing overhead and the whole bit. Next day we're doing a bunch of Hurste Castle tours, to be followed the next day with a super slab party.

We're taking the KTM 950 Adventure, as Feejer needs a bunch of work and mods still. We'll have five 950s in our group, that'll be a sight!

Where are you and Diane staying?

Brett & Heather

I want to know what colors Rossi is running on his bike there, His sponsor for the one race will be Yamaha Japan... Rumors of the King Kenny Bumble Bee colors!

Brett.. glad you found the place!!

It's a 45 minute ride for me to the track.. so no hotel here. :D I'll be there both days wandering around, but I'll be parking my butt up by the corkscrew, just like every other year.

The Aquarium is definately cool, sometimes it's crowded, I suggest an early morning visit there.

You need to hit Cannery Row on Saturday night!!! Wall to wall sport bikes!

Will PM my cell #.

Well i go back to work tomorow,,,working half day wed,,,fly out thur am ,,staying in morgan hill about 40 miles from the track OHHHHH hoiw I can not wait !!!! Brian

I'll be parking my butt in the Turn 2 Suites. Maybe we should all wear our FJR1300 caps to identify us?? You guys have those caps?

Who the hell ever thought a major US motorcycle race would sell out? Bikers must really be starved for REAL entertainment since the AMA screwed up the Superbike series and its support classes. Or maybe it's just that Daytona was SO F**KING BORING :dribble: that people are trying to make up for it somehow.

Anyway, a message has been sent by the people. Will anyone in the domestic racing community listen?

Yep! I'll be wearing one also, just because it's a badge of honor! ( well maybe pride! ) :agent:

Leave early, boys and girls...

As opposed to all the vee twins rumbling up the 101 last week to attend that Hollister Ballroom Waltz, I've been hearing the high pitched wail of as many crotch rockets on there way north to attend that mosh pit known as... um, what's it called these days? The Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix presented by Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway at Monterey Sponsored by Gillette featuring the Cheeto's 200 brought to you by Transamerica Life?

Anyway, enjoy and flash us some photos next week, k?

I hope you all enjoy the race, I went to Mugello last year and the sound as the bikes went down the main straight in excess of 210 mph was amazing. These bikes have a similar power/weight ratio as F1 cars and I'm sure they'll put on a better show.

My son-in-law is treating me the race on Saturday. He broke the motor mount on his Buell the other day, so we will both be going by cage ... (CRAP!)
