I'm heading to Monterey, VA to participate in the Blue Grass Book Bank Motorcycle Camp Night < https://www.bluegrassbookbank.org/ >.

I'm staying at the Highland Inn in Monterey < https://www.highland-inn.com/ > instead of camping at the farm in Blue Grass, though.

Here's the plan:

-- 19 Jun: Depart Northern Virginia and head to Monterey on back roads.

-- 20 Jun: Ride the roads around Monterey and into West Virginia. Get to Blue Grass by 5 p.m. for cookout and bluegrass music.

-- 21 Jun: Depart Monterey and head to Northern Virginia on back roads, arrive mid-afternoon.

Shout if you'd like to join up.

Just a word... you are aware that the Highland Inn has no A/C, right? ... although a fan is supplied in your room. I did stay there once... & we could definitely have used A/C. The Montvalee (I've stayed at in the spring) also doesn't seem to have A/C... yeah, like it never gets hot there. There is also a fan supplied with each room.

Edited to add: If you're riding into WV, consider taking a different road than Rte 250 unless you are fond of large amounts of gravel. They've been in chip-seal mode, again.

Was through there last weekend & west of Monterey on 250 had signs about every mile warning of loose gravel. I must say... it made the ride exciting. I had so much fun seeing if I could keep my bike straight up through those twisties.
