Minds outta the gutter.

Took the drive shaft out, intending to put new Moly paste on the splines, and noticed lots of rust at the splines and oil seal insertion. In a fit of inspiration, I wire brushed the rust off the rusty shaft, and still have rust on the universal joint splines.

Should I paint or treat the shaft to slow any returns of rust? Ideas?

Thank You.

Seriously, "Corrosion X" or "ACF-50".

Both great products and both available on amazon or direct ...

Excellent stuff for any metal part of bikes or really anything for that matter ...

Let me be more clear ... Good advice here ..in this thread ... Corrosion X on the shaft or other rust prone places that don't require high pressure/temp lubrication (Like splines) ... On Splines, Honda moly 60 or equivalent ..

I'd moly the splines and coat the shaft with some regular axle grease. I had Honda Moly 60 and Mobile 1 synth so used it because it was handy.
