Just the obligatory introduction post.

I've got myself an 01 in the beautiful blue and love it.

Come from a Honda CBF1000 before that, which is a tough act to follow to be honest.

Done 1000 happy miles in the past month and slowly working my way through servicing and maintenance.

Done brakes and fluids, clock change with LED upgrade, shock linkage replacement & lube, modified dogbones and various other bits of farkling.
Some engine gremlins still to tackle: slightly eratic idle, very annoying stutter on take off, and lumpy running under 3k revs.

CCT, TBS, plugs and filters are next on the list, but I have no idea what I'm doing

Welcome!

Lots of information on this forum about most common services.
How many miles on the bike?
Has a valve check been done recently?
How old are plugs?

The erratic running could be LOTS of things. Gen I bikes have a large connector under the tank that sometimes gets corroded and may need cleaning.

Also plugs, coils, plug wires, dirty injectors, valve timing, vacuum leaks, TBS, TPS (Throttle position sensor - problems with some Gen I)
Edit to add Battery Condition as well.

If the CCT is original, it should be replaced.

Post up if you need to be pointed in the right direction.

Thanks for that. I've ordered the bits I need to start working through the list. Bike came with no history at 37000 miles so I intend to have everything done in the coming months. I'm starting simple and might have to take it in for valves etc as I've no idea what I'm doing and can't find any foolproof tutorials.
