I'm considering joining the current Tag-Along Aux Fuel Tank group buy. Before I make a commitment to purchase I would like to know if the tank will fit a Gen III Can anyone confirm that the design of the under seat area is the same for both Gen III and Gen II bikes. Have there been any design modifications to the rear sub frame and passenger grab bar.

Cheers

Bill

I have a spare grab rail from my 08 AE (funny thing as it's even the same color as your '15) that I used for when I was traveling and it's exactly the same as my 2014. In fact, thanks for the reminder as I have been intending to paint it and use it again. As for the sub frame, it looks the same, but without having my '08 for a side by side comparison I'm only going by memory and that certainly isn't getting any better with age .

I think you are fine though.

I checked the part numbers on the rear subframe (a.k.a. "Rear Frame Comp") shown here:

2006FJR13ABS.JPG

2006 FJR13ABS (shown):

Ref#2: Rear Frame Comp
3P6-21190-00-00 3P6-21190-01-00

It looks like the original part has been revised.

2015 FJR13AF:
Ref#2: Rear Frame Comp
3P6-21190-01-00

So, we know the new rear subframe is backward compatible with the Gen 2 FJR.
