crap.

some really nice person decided to rub my reflector of my saddlebag while backing out of parking but didn't bother to stick around, or leave a note. Really nice? At least my bike was still upright!

So I ordered a new reflector, and since the parts diagram didn't show the part, I can only assume that I'm getting the reflector and the black thing that holds it. Now I have to figure out how to replace it. Any recommendations?

You can have mine if you want. I heatgunned them off already because they look gay. They're just glued on.

I'd try cutting the glue with some dental floss or fishing line if a heat gun isn't readily available. It worked for my tuning fork emblems, but I haven't tried it on the bag reflectors yet. Safety tip- Use leather gloves to avoid a nasty line cut!

-1 Try going to an auto parts store and look for 3M™ Plastic and Emblem Adhesive, P/N 08061 or any of its close cousins. Should you ever choose or need to remove the reflector this adhesive can be cut or dissolved.

I had the option of removing mine on a hot summer day. Set them in the sun, placed them on the bike for support, then took a big pair of channel lock pliers and wiggled them until they peeled off. Be careful with a heat gun...blistered paint wouldn't be particularly attractive. Joyful Girl's hair dryer might just do the trick.

+ 1 with the sun and channel locks. Worked out fine for me an I didn't have to worry 'bout paint blemishes either.

Cool! When you say emblems, do you mean both sides of tank and the one on the front fairing? Do they come off cleanly?

Mine didn't. I "peeled" them off with my fingernail, then used WD-40 and a soft cloth to remove the glue that was left behind. The dental floss trick is supposed to be the best.

Good to know. One of the improvements that I don't hear mentioned much on the '06 FJR is the reduced badging over previous years. I've been thinking I want to get rid of the tuning forks on the tank and the front fairing on the '06 as well. I actually like the FJR badges along the seat, however.

The first time I went from the kitchen to the garage, those tank badges looked like "headlights" on the blue tank. "Those have to go!", thought I. They weren't so obtrusive on the Cerulean '04, but I just didn't like them on the blue tank and nosepiece. I glued on my own nosepiece decoration, as did Warchild (Though they are antithetical to one another. ).
