I always feel like a want to have some kind of introduction before I invest 5 minutes on a promise that something is amazing. Can you give us a hint? It's like that dynamite video, which is something like 12 minutes. I saw it getting a lot of action, but I just don't want to take the chance that it's dumb. The problem is, everything posted on forums, FB, et al., these days gets raving recommendations by the posters, and then it turns out to be really mediocre. So what's so amazing in ALL CAPS?

He was hit by a drunk driver and lost his right arm and leg because of it... but he found a way to ride again. Take a chance... ya old poop. :p

Wait a minute. Is he left-handed?

(Plus, he's still got a full head of hair. Must be nice.)

I took a chance on your vid and I'm glad I did. Spirit and determination = inspiration.

Wish I could ride nearly as good with my complete set of arms and legs. Thanks Tyler.

Oh my soul. What an amazing story. Just watching that guy rip around the track with half his body amputated is incredible. I'm thinking that at any moment he's gonna crash...

Ever tried it?

Every once in a while when I'm not paying attention, I grab a little too much throttle when my left hand doesn't have it's normal firm grip on the handlebars. With only one hand holding on, the FJR becomes a handful in a hurry. How does he do it?

Help me out here...

I've never raced, but many of you have. Doesn't that extended knee provide a level of insurance when you're keeled over and the rear end gets a little loose? What would it be like without it?

Amazing confession from a guy who's idea of a good time is watching paint dry.

FWIW, I have said the same about these mindless POV videos. If I wasn't there, it didn't happen.

Now you see, that's perfect. Thank you. Because being snarky, trollish, and curmudgeonly, I really hate sappy sentimental feel-good back-from-diversity stories. So you saved me from giving up 5 minutes of my life. Thank you. And I'm not old! (Much.) Now if I could only get back all the time it took to type these comments. And these. And these.....

Please note: This has to do with the story, it is NOT an attempt to high jack the thread but to talk about similar situations.

1. That was amazing, thank you Miss Tyler

2. One time while doing a track day, I saw a gentlemen in a wheel chair, he was a paraplegic. He was going to ride on the track. I was very intrigued by what I saw on his bike and had to talk to him and his crew. His Ducati (I liked him already

) had some funny looking outriggers that stuck out of both sides of the bike and balanced the bike on big Razor scooter like plastic wheels. He also had a tank bag, hmm, what for? Asking questions they told me the tank bag was so the rider could feel the bike thru his chest when leaning. He had Velcro on the bottom of his boots that stuck to the pegs, and velcro on his knees and tank to keep his legs inboard. When he started to ride off, the outriggers would retract and sweep behind him with the flick of a switch on his bars.

To say he was having fun was an understatement. I was doing my business riding on the track in my session, having a great time mind you, when this guy passed me. I was truly inspired by him.

3. Thursday coming home from work I noticed a guy that was riding next to me in the HOV lane was on a Burgman, I immediately thought of Old Michael’s comment about a Volvo driving gal saying that she saw Fairlaner and his group on a pack of Burgman’s (you had to see the post, it was a riot, see posts 12 and 19), anyway, I look over as he adjusted his left arm and he was riding with a prosthesis that had a hook for a hand. Again, I thought, that’s awesome he’s doing what he loves.

I was going to post about the fellow on the Burgman but thought I'd add it here.

I hope this considered on topic.
