i Was hoping to get to Kennewick on Sunday, but plans interfered. Any PNWers heading out?

The putt putt pink gay clean bike in the pictures does not belong to a rally participant. It belongs to Rally Staff. If asked, my guess is that the Rally Staff would claim it got washed (by the rain) on its way across the country - from Greenville to Kennewick.

Prudhoe Bay and Tuk!! Send them to Tuk!!!

What carrot to dangle? Hmmm. How about a UCC (Prudhoe Bay to Key West) bonus for 70K points or so? If you accomplish that during the leg you don't have to do Checkpoint #2. Or how about a 48-state ride bonus between now and the end? Or a 4-corners bonus? Any other outrageous (to me) rides that you could stuff into an IBR as a bonus that would lure the Big Dogs into skipping Checkpoint #2?
BTW, thanks to Matt for overseeing this thread and to the FJRForum folks for providing this place to come and observe those who can do these sorts of super human rides!

Best,

Lumpy

My money is on Tuktoyaktuk, this guy made it there in a 70's Lincoln, how hard can it be

Riding a GS(A) or an S10 will come in handy for these types of locations.

In the 2001 IBR:

Bob Hall arrived at 7:54. By a six-minute margin he narrowly missed any late arrival point deductions. Bob had just returned from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He had elected to go for the big one million-point bonus offered in Sunnyside, Washington. He gambled on the weather. He won. He gambled that the BMW R1100RT would run without problems. He won. He knew that what he could control he would. And he did. Bob felt good. Extremely good. He won.

Sunnyside, WA to Prudhoe Bay to Madison, AL. Almost 7,400 miles

Since the riders have the option of skipping CP2, were all of the bonuses for Leg 2 and Leg 3 included in their rally packs?

Back on page 16, one of the FJRs belongs to our own earthrooster. You go, brother!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Warchild posted a link to the Leg 1 standings, which link to the official scorecards listing the bonii credited to each rider. That's SO VERY COOL. Many thanks, Launcher of Planes and Motorbikes. (And it was equally cool to shake your hand at the BMR banquet.)

For example, Ms. Crockett, on a 2005 FJR, collected nine "location" bonii. Two were at lighthouses, one at the Everglades' Flamingo Visitor Center, one at Nevada's A'LE'INN, two at historical forts, and the others at places I can't decipher immediately.

You guys want to figure out themes? Check some of the score cards.

Is anyone else having a problem with Day 4's "Tick Tock" report ??

I can open/download all the other reports expect Day 4. I've tried Firefox & Chromium but same problem.

I'm resisting (for now) on reading Day 5 until I can read Day 4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
