    mirror washer combination

Thanks everyone for the help, especially mctrophy. FYI for anyone taking the mirrors apart....get ready for the little metal balls to fall out of their seats. 2 fell out onto my temporary workbench and bounced into the grass. Saw one and did a sweep with a magnet to find the other.

    mirror washer combination

Just dissembled the mirrors at the knuckle for painting. The nut "presses" eight convex or concave washers against the knuckle. After taking the first mirror apart I attempted to pay attention to the second mirror to make sure I got the washers in the proper order. I failed at that simple task...

    Anyone using a Givi V47?

Got the SR-357 mount and the V47 top case. I agree completely with ElliottM about the looks. The V47 blends with the lines of the FJR better than any other TC I came across ( My humble opinion ) and was the main reason I chose it. If I every need a larger TC the SR-357 is ready to accept it.

    Hollow Caliper Bolts

Makes more sense to me than weight savings.

    Hollow Caliper Bolts

I'm going with KD's take on the reason as to why the bolts are hollow and his suggestion about replacement which has already been implemented.

    Hollow Caliper Bolts

Yeah...When I asked about the hollow bolt at the yamaha shop we all laughed when the weight saving angle came up. It was suggested that I could purchase a titanium brake set that is made for thr R1 at $1400.00 and that shaved off all of 2 lbs. I have used the offending torque wrench many times...

    Hollow Caliper Bolts

Tightened the upper caliper bolt on my 2006 yesterday @ 28 ft/lb and the bolt stretched and broke. Anyone seen such before? Used an ez-out to remove the part still in the threads. Praise be tne bolt was hollow which raises the question of why the hollow bolt? I would assume a solid bolt of the...

Mirrors extenders, and some others questions

I got the twisted throttle mirror extenders and they are working well for me. Once you remove the dash panels installation is a piece of cake.

Windscreens again...I got to do it

I would be most interested to hear your opinion after you've had a chance to access the Rifle. After everyone's responses on this thread and looking over the Rifle web sight today I've decided to go with their windscreen....Dan

Windscreens again...I got to do it

The Rifle seems to generate the most consistently positive feedback from what I have read in the FJR Forum. I don't consider myself a tight wad but I was trying to hold down the price, knowing the Rifle was one of the most expensive of the aftermarket windscreens. If I'm really honest with...

Eric: Thanks for the invite. I'd be interesting in knowing about any of your favorite day rides out of the Queensbury area. My email is [email protected]. Thanks, Dan

Windscreens again...I got to do it

FJR Pilot: I had given the helmet aspect some consideration and you could have a point. I'm on my second HJC flip up. I like these helmets though I don't think they are constructed as well as the Shoei, which I have also previously owned. It was a full faced non flip up helmet. I have ridden...
