    Fork seals! Argh!

From my readings the fork seal repair is a bit complicated considering the the approximate $200 a dealer will charge. On a side note I will be taking my '07 with 26K in today for seal replacement. After reading posts here I was able to provide my local dealer with enough information to make a...

Fluid leak up front - brake fluid or fork oil?

Randy, both forks developed leaks within a 30 period. There were no unusually harsh impacts to the front wheel although driving the back roads New Mexico would likely be considered a harsh environment to many. I was able to buy the seal kit for both forks for $60.00 with a quoted labor charge...

Fluid leak up front - brake fluid or fork oil?

I have recently developed fork leaks on my 07 with 27K miles. Per my local Yamaha dealer Yes will not cover the repair as the fork seals are considered a wearable part. Any suggestions on getting Yes to cover the repair.

Let her know it's all about safety. You need the power and ABS brakes to maneuver yourself around otherwise life threatening obstacles.

    Bill Mayer Saddle GROUP BUY

Hope the heaters work out for you. But for those that haven't made up their minds about heating or not, I have a heated seat now (Corbin not BMS) and the heat is not all that useful. For one thing your butt isn't what needs heating (at least mine doesn't) since it's not out in the cold wind...

    Bill Mayer Saddle GROUP BUY

Made my order today and was told by Susan to calculate my check based on the discount. Was placed on their work schedule for the first Monday in April or 10 days from my phone call. Was told to anticipate the seat being finished in three days from commencement. Went with the dual seat, full...

ECU Replacement Turnaround Time By Dealer?

Had my ECU replaced under warranty this week. All that was required was a phone call to have the part ordered. I'm looking at my service invoice which shows part number 90891-30054-00 described as FJR1300 ECU Kit (u49). As indicated on the invoice total cost for the part and labor was...

    K1200LT t0 FJR

I paid $11,800 in Feb 07 for an 07 from deming cycle (NM). I'll sell it for $10,500 with a new four year warranty,7,000 miles, perfect, and dressed. I really like the black 08. What do they say, you'll only own one black bike in your life. I say let it be an 08 fjr!!! ha

    An inch lower . . .

Time to get out the old bread knife. Trimming an inch of the back of the riders cushion makes the seat a whole lot more comfortable on long rides as well.

    Cold feet

John, and who says the FJR doesn't have great throttle control. HA HA, I loved your post. If only I had been so lucky last month.

    Warranty

This story explains why we should all utilize bank financing when not paying cash. When I bought my FJR in Jan of 2007 Yamaha was having a 5.9% (fixed) rate offer that I had my dealer approve me for prior to delivery. The rate beat the bank rate and made since. On the day I went to pick up...

    Cold feet

I think if I was worried about my arm strength I wouldn’t be buying a bike with the intention of doing wheelies. As for your wife enjoying the bike that all depends again on your arm strength. No disrespect intended!
