broken clutch lever, worn bushing # 3gm-26455-00

Don't visit here much anymore, don't know if this has been discussed, but maybe it will help someone?. My 07 has 100k on it and a while back did a clutch soak for a dragging clutch, which didn't help. Recently, the clutch lever started binding, clutch dragging even more, so finally...

    Clutch Soak with SH_26

Like many of you, the clutch drag had become progressively worse lately on my 07 FJR with over 90K. The clutch handle cam has always been in position one. I have bled the clutch several times over the years without problems. This time, I bled the clutch several different ways just to...

    Painting my FJR

A couple of years ago, I removed all panels from my ole BMW LT and had them painted red base coat-clear coat at a body shop for $350. At least as much surface area as the FJR and it turned out excellent. Better than spraying it myself, which I have done before.

Short Florida Ride - US1 to Sebastian

I live in the area and that is one of my favorite rides. I fly a Piper out of Sebastian airport in the morning and what a view of the Indian River and ocean.

    When you joined The Forum...

I joined shortly after purchasing my 07. I mostly lurk. What I've learned, unlike other forums, is never post a question and anything goes with sheep.

Musings of an aging FJR rider

I'm 68, my wife doesn't ride and my long distance riding has changed after shoulder surgery 2 years ago. I fabricated a motorcycle loader for my pickup and now haul the bike to the mountains. I just returned from a fun CO-WI trip. I rode everyday in CO for 2 weeks while visiting my son...

    Audiovox CCS-100

A couple of weeks ago, mine went from lazy apply to nothing. All the servo red led light switch and ignition signal tests passed. Good engine vacuum and held with engine off. I opened the servo and applied vacuum with my mityvac to the diaphragm with the engine running to make sure the...

    Knocking Noise From Engine

I had that happen when the bike was newer, but for much longer than a few seconds. Might have been a piece of carbon on the piston? Once in a while I would get a vehicle that sounded like it was coming apart, but after running top engine cleaner, it would disappear.

    Starter Issue? Display goes dead.

Had to do it!!! Took about 10 mins. to test my FJR with a clamp on DC ammeter. 105 amps normal cranking amps. cold with a screwdriver jammed between the relay bolts. Disconnected the neg. cable and installed a one foot smaller dia. jumper lead for resistance-voltage drop. Starter...

    Starter Issue? Display goes dead.

I have demonstrated this so many times on vehicles(not motorcycles), where we had expensive battery-starter-alternator testers in the shop with a inductive amp. clamp. Lets say was have a good cranking system with normal starter draw and battery voltage after a 15 second test. Voltage...

    Starter Issue? Display goes dead.

My starter issue wasn't intermittent, but slowed just before firing. I checked battery cable connections and the battery passed a load test. I installed a clamp on induction DC ammeter to the positive cable. Shifter in neutral. I jammed a screwdriver between the two big bolts on the...

Unlimited miles on a northern Italy motorcycle rental?

If you are riding mountain passes, you probably won't ride as many miles as you think. I've only been over twice and rode 14 days each time. We rode 4-5 passes each day and with photo stops, coffee breaks, lunch, 150 miles felt like a fun workout.

+1 on too much cable slack. When I had my starter out a while back, I must have move the cable a little, causing no or slow engagement. Lifted the tank, moved the cable forward in the bracket and it now works immediately again.
