Yes you can be certain that your trunk will fit the rack, but you cannot be certain that the rack will fit your bike, because the racks are specific to each bike model.
So the topcases are one-size-fits-all, in that any Monokey topcase fits any Monokey toprack, but the racks are bike-specific.
Thanks for the pictures. It looks like it should be low enough that I can at least swing a leg over. This will be for a new bike (a K1600GT) and I'll wait for it to arrive (July or earlier) since it would make the long highway commute easy. (I currently ride an FZ1 that I had replaced my FJR...
Yeah, some people had deposits there for pre-orders on the BMW K1600GT/L. The pre-orders are safe but I don't know what happened to their actual deposits. On the other hand California law requires all deposits to be refundable; maybe that trumps bankruptcy?
I'm thinking of ordering a Russell on my next bike though I'm only 5'6. I was wondering if anyone anywhere in SoCal had a Russell (ideally not a very high one) that they wouldn't mind me sitting on.
I've certainly had people slowly squeeze me or try somewhat to cut me off, but that's it. Nothing actually blatantly malicious and nothing that actually prevented me from passing. I've never had anyone actually touch the dashed white line for example, and frankly for all I know they may just be...
Guys, Honda did not build this bike - a custom bike builder did. And yes it was at the Long Beach show. Quite a few manufacturers displayed custom modifications of their bikes at their booths but they're obviously not build by the companies themselves.
LiFePO4 is much better than lithium-ion as far as longevity and safety goes, by the way. Lithium-ion is a bit lighter and smaller but is worse in other ways. And the price, while high, seems reasonable, considering just normal lead-acid batteries are like $100+ in that size.
Certainly there were few riders to the show, though there were some. I drove but I no longer have a good all-weather bike like the FJR. There were a number of new models shown at the show, in particular the elusive K1600GT/L which seems really intriguing (will almost certainly be my next bike)...
The weight quoted is inaccurate - the K1600GT is 703 lbs wet without side bags - figure close to 740 lbs with them. Basically it's 80 lbs heavier than the FJR, but with a probably narrower seat and certainly a much lower seat (optionally); the lowest seat available is the GTL seat which is...
I think the OP is referring to people that insist on parking the bike on the centerstand at all times out of fear it will fall over if left on the side-stand.
