    Upgraded to 2018 ES

Sold my 2008 FJR1300 a few years ago when I moved to Phoenix. Missed the bike so I was able to find a very nice, low mileage 2018 FJR1300 ES with basically all the options I would have wanted except for better wind screen (which I since added). So here she is. Only 4200 original miles...

Is there any solution for leg roasting heat on an 08?

Thanks for the advice but when it is 90+ degrees, I wear jeans and my ballistic Joe Rocket mesh armor over them. Provides (some) knee and thigh protection but seriously - NOT gonna ride with leathers on in that temp. Oh and someone asked if the heat Shield is on the engine - yes, I have done...

Is there any solution for leg roasting heat on an 08?

Hey guys and gals. I havent posted in quite some time so I was due. I did search the forums and other than gripes, I didnt find if there is any known solution to the problem in the title topic. I live in Denver and we get very nice Summer's here and it frequently gets low to mid 90's. Riding...

recommendations for a wind guard for my handgrips

Topic says it all. I live in Denver and we get some cooooold mornings. The cold isn't the bad part - it is the wind chill on the fingers. Figure if I had something that blocks the wind from the grips it would be very helpful. Already ordered heated glove liners. So anyways, what do you guys...

    Heated grips or heated Gloves

Just ordered a dual zone Heat Troller and heated glove liners. Do you guys connect your heat controllers directly to the battery or does a Gen II (08) have some decent central power block to go to? I already have a battery maintainer connected directly to the battery posts and don't want...

    Cell phone GPS question

I will have to look at that. The normal non-MC gloves I keep in my pocket for cold days does have the index finger and thumbs with capacitive panels so they work on the iPhone and my touch screen Navi in my car. I can wear them to keep my digits warm and still run the controls. Too lite and...

    GPS Mounting Location

I got the RAMBONE last year (is it me or does it sound like I just talked about a visit to prison?)..... aaaaaanyways it is awesome and a fantastic way to go. It is the perfect height to put my GPS/iPhone in correct view and still not block any of my gauges. And as you stated, it doesnt move...

    Heli bar question

Just got my Helibar and cant wait to get it installed on my '08. I added Sargent seats to my bike and they are comfortable but put you a little further back from the tank so I need to get the bars moved back and bit and everything I have read on the forum seems that the Helibar is the Holy...

    Cell phone GPS question

I end up using my iPhone and the TomTom app for a very specific reason - I have the Cardo headsets added into my helmets and it can only pair with a very limited number of GPS units but it does pair with the iPhone just fine. I have a RAMBONE added to my bike and have the iPhone mounted on that...

    Sargent seat report.........

Replaced my stock seats with Sargent and really love them. I also went and got the optional backrest for my wifes seat. One thing I did not like about the stock configuration of the Sargent is that the backrest simply "snaps" into the seat and I wasnt comfortable with that nor did I want the...

    Colt Vs Glock

I am a handgun fan so that includes BOTH Glock and 1911. My main carry is a Glock 23 in 40S&W, my IDPA gun is a Glock 17 in 9mm and my "fun" gun is my Kimber Tactical Custom II. I shoot them all well so doesnt matter to me.

    Waving at other motorcyclists

Been riding on the road for 36 years. I kind of agree that for the most part, I started waving to other riders because we are all part of a special club - the " all 4 wheeled vehicles are out to kill me 'cause they don't freakin LOOK!". Might be the last time I see them. I rode a sport bike...
