I have used Vista Cruises for over 25 years now on many bikes. To me these seem to work the best. You can set a friction level so the throttle will stay put yet allow you to adjust it. The thumb lever allows you to quickly set on or off very easily. The best of both worlds and cheap. Try it...
We have used Camelbacks for several years here in Arizona where of course it is basically mandatory for hydration. Riding by myself I will frequently put the bladder from a Camelback in the tank bag. I guess I don't understand why the passenger would find it uncomfortable to wear one as there...
BS! Apparently never rode or raced dirt bikes or MX. Locking front or rear wheel can be ridden and used to corner. Watch Superbike or MotoGP and watch both ends sliding on occasion. There are some good drifting videos on YouTube of motorcycles.
Agree on the "had to lay her down" nonsense about...
First check the top triple clamp. I had a bike that would click like that and it was the stop part of the triple clamp was a little loose so it would move slightly. All I had to do is loosen the top fork clamps and tighten down the top nut over the bearings. Hope that helps.
Who has or has links to some "4 square" rides. That is, riding around the outside boundaries of the US. Say San Diego to Seattle to Maine to Florida Keys back to San Diego. Actually starting in Phoenix but you get the point. Bucket List entry.
Agreed. That is one of the main reason the Honda VFR took bike of year many times and was preferred by many testers. Wonderful all around bike. That engine is wonder to ride. With an aftermarket exhaust it sounds a lot like a hot rod small block Chevy. Sweet. When I got the FJR as a trade for a...
If you had one of the later ones, then you may have had a problem with the heat. The 95 seems to channel it much better and is no problem here in Phoenix even in the summer. The FJR gives me much more heat than the Trophy. The Trophy handles better because of the upgraded suspension of full Race...
Yes! They are 6 pot endurance racing brakes. More much bite. The FJR has 4 pot brakes.
Wow...the Trophy is NOT a stock '95 and I was just comparing the two. The Trophy has several mods that are quite modern and up to date. And yes it does sound like a diesel engine as there is not much sound...
Sorry, but I said they about the same in performance. Was that not clear?? I have many bikes. I was comparing two of them. Horsepower to weight ratio is about the same for both so why would it be difficult to believe they have similar performance? The Trophy weighs less but is close in...
I already have both. A Gen I FJR and a 900 Trophy from 1995. They both have their points. They are about the same speed but the Trophy feels lighter and more response. Both are upgraded with better suspension. Wilbers on the FJR and Race Tech front and Ohlins on the rear for the Trophy. The...
The general reason for the bike decline in the US is that most buyers finance bikes and the financing dried up. I worked in the industry for almost 20 years and saw sales drop by 50%. Could not get loans for younger riders. Costco makes sense for leads as they tend to be older and well off...
