    Windshield will not raise.

Oops! Typo. That, "May 2010" should be, "May 2012".

    Windshield will not raise.

Why yes...I did buy the extended warranty and it is valid through May of 2010 so that is what I will do. I actually forgot about it. :yahoo: Thanks for the reminder! Nice link! Bookmarked for future reference. :clapping:

    Windshield will not raise.

Yes. All those work. I found the culprit...the gasket that seals the faring where the windshield's mechanism sticks through has fallen off and has become entangled in the mechanism. :angry2: Now I'm debating the effort of removing all the fairings just to get to this gasket.

    Windshield switch stopped working

My gasket just did the same thing yesterday. I see here that you did not replace your gasket. Are you seeing any long-term problems like water damage/rust/etc by not having the gasket installed?

    Windshield switch stopped working

This is an old but relevant thread. I just experienced the same problem and was wondering if you just used a long screw driver or rod to move the gasket around or did you take the fairing off, remove the gasket, then reassemble everything?

The windshield will not raise. It is in the down position now. Any suggestions?

    Georgia FJR Riders Group

I've mapped a few routes that would work. My latest and most genius route ( ) consisted of two 500 mile loops that started and ended at my house. That way, I could return home after 500 miles to sleep without having to pay for a hotel. Yeah, I'm cheap. But I also looked at some...

    Georgia FJR Riders Group

Nope. Not yet. My schedule keeps me from making solid plans plus the lack of a friend to commit to ride with me. I can't do it now...way too hot to enjoy it. September or October might work better as long as it doesn't interfere with college football. :yahoo:

    Hey you Atlanta People

I think your biggest concern will be the idiots driving the cars. I go to great lengths to stay off of 285 and 75 (inside the perimeter) because the folks out here drive aggressively. They will tail you, cut you off, and pull right out in front of you all while surfing the net on their...

    Iron Butt SS1000 From Georgia

I've been challenged by a friend of mine to complete the SS1000 before he completes a 100 mile / 24 hour endurance race. Game on! I'll be leaving from the Atlanta, Ga area. Is anyone interested in joining me. I could go alone but company is always more fun. Target date is sometime in June...

Changing the coolant. Got the panels off.

Just for your FYI - here are a couple of photos: The first shows the reservoir with the side fairing removed. Easy to get to here. The next photo shows how I got to the radiator cap. I just removed the black side panel just to the right of the glove box (per the FJRTech site) and was able...

Changing the coolant. Got the panels off.

You can fill the radiator without removing the panel on the clutch side but you will have to remove the panel to fill the overflow reservoir. If you don't, you run the risk of getting coolant on the plastic which, according to some info on the fjrtech.com site, os a bad thing. Taking the...
