Northern CA - Tire Friendly shop

Had a fantastic couple of weeks on the road. I had ordered tires from Lee's Honda in Redding. Super nice guys and really took care of me. Loved 36, the redwoods, 199 along the Smith up to Crater Lake. And continued on. Thanks for all the help guys.

This is on the "map". - The hwy 36 to hwy 3 to hwy 299 to I5 loop is incredible Spoke to Lee's in Redding this morning and have a pair of PR4s lined up. Really appreciate all the help. I am heading straight for Redding. Get out there and mess around in NorCal for a few days. Then head up 5 to...

Northern CA - Tire Friendly shop

I live in Chicago and am planning on riding out to see the redwoods mid-September. I've got good rubber but not enough for a round trip, but don't want to waste what I have. I'd like to be able to arrange a visit to a shop and get a pair PR3 Bs spooned on. Any suggestions for a motorcycle...

    resurface rotors

When changing brands on pads, I'll use a scrub pad to try and clean the rotors of old material.

Fuel Cut Eliminators, ECU reflash for FI issues/Throttle Snatch

I use flash-tune.com for a track only 06 R6. It provides a lot of flexibility. Not really applicable to the FJR, but they have (I installed it) a quick shifter that their flash then doesn't require any additional parts. i.e. Power Commander, extra modules, etc... If a vendor provided an easy...

    CBF1000 to FJR?

My bad, I thought I read it was an 08 CBR1k. I stand corrected that its a CBF.

    CBF1000 to FJR?

Not completely the same, but I went from a 94 CBR1k to the FJR. I had it with the beast, while I could sit in that saddle all day long, it had aged features. I got rid of it in 07 for an 07 FJR. Better brakes FI - got so fed up with dealing/cleaning the carbs shaft drive integrated bags...

    grinding hard parts?

Take it to the track if you want max lean angles. The street is no place for that foolery.

Anyone used this Ebay top box?

No Thanks, you get what you pay for. I for one, am done with the cheap knockoff cases. Yeah, the Givi, for example, is more expensive, but I borrowed a friends case and it is much more durable and better built. I've had the cheap Givi knock off cases and have had the bottom mounting plastic...

    Roadside Help Please-Nashville/Antioch

Update: Good things folks. I had been researching the PR3s and had seen the reference to twobrotherstires.com. Tim and Ernie are great to deal with, low key and very professional as well as very detail orientated. I headed up there this morning and no sooner than I had got there, they pulled...

    2007 for 6300?

loe_tek, I really would like to say congratulations on the new bike. But the BIG BUT of it is that I hate to hear market value of my own 2007. ;) I love mine, enjoy the living snot out of it. I hope you two (wife, not bike) have a great trip home when you get it.

    Roadside Help Please-Nashville/Antioch

We got the tire spooned on and I made it to Decatur to my brother's place. What a joy it is to have a smooth riding bike. It's one of the reasons we do this in the first place. The craigslist guy was soooo nice. When I asked him about his listing, he said verbatim, "darn, I sold them last...
