    Kawasaki's Supercharged Sport Touring Bike

The H2 SX SE has some VERY attractive features. 197HP - that's 197 reasons why one might just choose to deal with the chain drive. Integrated LED cornering lights? Cool. Quick Shifter? Cool. Launch Control Mode? Cool. Round reflector on the saddlebag? Not cool - but not hard to get rid of. When...

    Oil Filter Purolator 14612

The Yamaha filters have an o-ring seal, not a gasket like the others. Yamaha has changed the P/N and the filter design has varied a little bit over the years. No sealing issues using them for 10 years on cycle/sled/atv.

    2015 Suggestions

Introduce a limited, special edition: Red, black or blue paint choices Lots of carbon fiber and polished stainless accents, but tasty, not overblown. The idea is to eliminate plastic as much as possible Higher compression pistons and a hotter cam, maybe add 25HP on premium unleaded only...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

Picture this: The BLACK one, with ES, then take all the painted metal parts and replace them with high polished stainless steel - including the wheels. Spendy? Yes, but I think it would be stunning to look at.

    Stranded, need guidance!

Yamaha 4 stroke snowmobiles have nice heavy guage wires that come right off the battery to a remote location for jumpstarting. The cable ends have rubber boots to prevent arcing and I'm pretty sure a heavy duty fuse is built in. If a jump start is needed, just slip the rubber boots back off the...

Compared to other bikes you have owned what do you like most and the least about the fjr.

Like: Power, relatively low CG, real metal gas tank, relatively low weight and short wheelbase (compared to other ST bikes), adjustable screen, good ergos and not hard to work on. Dislike: goofy battery location, stock suspension didn't work for me (and spendy to change that), stock seat was...

    CFO Home Safe Thread

Way late posting this since it only took me 2 hours to get home (in cold rain, but gear held up well). Had a moment near WI Dells when the cagers all decided to slam the brakes on for nuthin' - a little creative braking/maneuvering and all was well. Got my hearty going and warmed me up :-) Big...

    Pics, iridium plugs after 24,000

Except for one thing - your FJR engine spins at higher RPM than most car engines, so your plugs are going to fire more times per mile compared to a car. 100K in the average car and 100K on the FJR would not be the same thing.

    Clutch dragging?

It sounds odd, I know. I've had shaft drive bikes before, and had the (slight) wheelspin thing. However, on my FJR it always seemed more pronounced, and I always got a bit of a lurch when shifting from neutral to first. Took a test ride over the weekend and the clutch is much more "positive" for...

    Clutch dragging?

Performing some long overdue preventative maintenance on my '05 this week. On my bike, the clutch has always seemed a little bit sticky. Not a huge deal, but enough so that if the bike were up on centerstand and you pulled in the clutch and dropped into first gear, the rear wheel would spin...

    Asleep at the handlebars?

For me, falling asleep has always been easy. I can powernap at the drop of a hat. The downside is I fall asleep a little too easily when bored. Long drives in a car and riding a motorcycle on a long straight highway at night often leave me fighting off sleep. Yep, I've fallen asleep while...

    Rider shot in the back

I'm not a cop, and never trained to be one. I've gotten plenty of "revenue gathering" performance awards over the years, so I'm not one who has much reason to like cops. Thus I'm an odd choice to play devil's advocate in this case. It was a bad shoot. Little doubt of that. However, I bet that...

Elena Myers becomes first female AMA road race winner

Will the AMA now have to hire an "Umbrella Guy" for her??? Seems only fair.....

    Triumph Sprint GT

Looks like it would be great for carving corners. Lack of shaft drive prevents it from being a true ST contender in my book. I think this bike leans a little more towards being a sportbike with bags - maybe competition for the Honda VFR. Nice looking bike with the exception of the dorky...
