    Back home again...

After "downtrading" my FJR for the 2004 ST1300 I had bought new @ 2 months ago, it finally got thru to me that my now creaky hips could NOT bend to the angles needed to ride the ST1300. Sharp hip pains would result after several hours of riding, but when I bought her in '04: NO problems. What a...

Rumors of a "retro" CB 750 Honda

Should these rumors prove true and if Honda remained "faithful" to the look and easy ergos of the original 69 CB 750 but with modern suspension and brakes...WOW! A sohc 4 with 67 hp would do fine. There would definately be room for one in my "Toy Room" next to my 1970 CB 750. Interesting and...

    How to Appreciate your FJR

Yesterday I rode my FJR down to my local cycle emporium to try out a lil Suzook DR 650. Talk about opposite ends of biking! Rode the DR on backroads for 50 minutes; actually for a big thumper it is quite a nice bike. I've had several big street singles over the years and have pretty much liked...

    Finally...first ride in 2007

It hit 75F here in N. Indiana yesterday and I simply could resist no longer. After 2 neck operations and now Bell's Palsey I haven't been able to ride any of my bikes. Last-pain filled-ride was late Sept of '05 after the first, failed operation. One hour of ever increasing pain...no fun! So I...

    step in the right direction.........

Tonight it's 1 week since the second operation on my neck, this time fusing C5-6-7. 21 weeks ago a different surgeon operated on me and the pain skyrocketed. I tried riding my FJR for @ an hour 6-7 weeks after the first operation and had major pain in my left shoulder and arm all the time I was...

No heat problem on the '06............

A couple of friends and I left for a ride at 10 this morning. FJR was showing 81F; when I got back at 3 she was showing 91F and had been for @ 90 minutes and the humidity was up, too. Absolutely NO noticeable radiated engine heat from my '06. On my '03 FJR I wouldn't have even ridden today...

Got my FOUR year Y.E.S. tonoight...$369.00

Nope, not a typo...I just paid $369.00 for the 4 year Y.E.S for my '06 FJR from North End Cycle here in Elkhart, IN. The owner, Byron let me know that if other FJR owners wanted a 4 year Y.E.S. they would get the same price. No affiliation, just a very happy '06 FJR owner now :clapping: :D...

Met another '06 on the road.........

I had a thoroughly enjoyable 205 mile ride on my '06 yesterday. Just after leaving the H-D/Buell dealer up in Kalamazoo, MI what should I spot but another blue '06! So we stopped and chatted for a few minutes. He was liking his, too....aaahmazinn I say!! LOL! Despite the seat not fitting me very...

    600 mile service

Got my 700 mile '06 back from its 600 mile service last night....amazing improvement! My bike now feels like it is all one pc. in the same county working together. It had been dying and just generally felt very disjointed, like the throttle, throttle bodies and engine were in 3 different...

    '06 magazine reviews.....

I got both my Cycle World and Motorcyclist today, still nothing on the newly revised FJR for '06. Checked at Barnes and Noble also: nothing in any of the UK mags on the bike. Has anyone seen anything concrete, as far as a "test" goes on the new FJR? DFO :eh:

    Yamaha's new cruisers........

The new Stratoliners etc certainly are a fresh, innovative (given the 30s styling touches from the Art Deco school...) design, but.......... They certainly are not ungainly hardlee clones unlike many Japanes cruisers. The articles reviewing these bikes are very positive about all the bikes...

    Moto Guzzi Norge

Wow! Just saw a pic of Guzzi's new 1160cc(?) Norge sport touring bike. Lookswise it leaves a FJR in the dust; very interesting design with its transverse Vtwin poking partially through. Definately, in my opinion as an Industrial Designer "smokes" GK Design's efforts on the FJR. BTW they are...

    Suzuki Stratosphere concept bike.........

How many have seen the pics of the new Suzuki in-line, transverse DOHC 6 Stratosphere "concept" bike? WOW...a stunner in my humble opinion as an Industrial Designer. Fresh, but with hints of the original Hans Muth designed Katana. It also appears that a non contortionist can ride the bike...
