Update - I just dinked around with the video on the Contour website at full screen mode...turns out you can move the GPS data window anywhere you want. You can do this by double clicking and dragging any of the outermost edges of that small window.

Regarding the full screen view, the Contour site is working on this. They honestly have had quite a few software bugs with the release of their new GPS cam late last year. That said, they also have been diligently working to resolve them. I have been impressed with their overall response and...

Now THAT is entirely possible!! He is a speed machine...hey, gotta exercise some caustion up there...quite a bit of hill sludge that has tumbled down and lots of blind curves!

Yeah, the GPS could be turned off or not displayed. I was thinking about that too, but there is no info identifying the bike (license plate etc) and moreover, no way to prove who was riding! :yahoo:

I have the Contour GPS and am pretty happy with it. These three (GoPro, Contour, Drift) seem to be the competitive players at this price point. All pretty nice units, each with some strenghts and weaknesses over the others...

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, this was a first test run with the unit. The mic can be configured completely off. I figure I will ultimately edit in music or some such in lieu of the wind noise! Also unsure about the potential "issues" with posting speed data...could incite big brother...

Got the new Contour GPS unit and mounted to Feejer today for a test ride. Went up PCH to Latigo, down Kanan and home in about 1.5 hrs. Took 1 hr of video and tried out a few different mounting locations. The GPS data is sweet. Its all is viewable when playing on the software installed...

I didnt see it posted, what road did all the calamities happen on? was it Latigo or? Hey, its extra wet/misty/slick/foggy out today...who wants to hit Malibu?? Bad humor?

Crap...glad to hear there were no major or irreparable injuries. Sucks in any case.

Have fun gang. I was eyeing a last minute join but can't make this one. I ride all those roads pretty often, sometimes hit a few after work...do the longer route, link as many canyons as time permits! Be safe, the fog in the AM may be thick and the roads slick. higher up should be fine though.

Both good bikes with some pros/cons. IMHO the FJR has the edge in a variety of areas. Follow your gut, but I say reward yourself this Holiday weekend and GET THE FJR!! :P

They charge $20.00 per .jpg image and its pretty high res. I figure I dont buy such things often and its cool to have/capture for review in the future. They emailed me the .jpg within an hour of my order. Nice. I cropped/zoomed in on the image a bit that I posted up.
