So what's it like to ride an AE FJR?

I bought an 07 AE holdover last year. Got a great deal on it and I absolutely loved the e clutch. (HINT: shift with your forefinger; pull up, push down) System worked great. FOr other reasons I've moved on to a different machine, but I really liked shifting the AE. It was one of my...

    Summer jacket recommendations?

+1 on Olympia. I've got an AST for cooler rides and a Bushwhacker (mesh version of AST) for hot weather . Works great! Neon yellow is fugly, BUT the cagers DO seem to notice it!

    2007 FJR Questions

Sounds a touch "high" to me. I got my 07AE for 10,900 last October.... Be sure and have 'em do the ignition and ECU recall. Also, stand by to WAIT for the ECU... Mine came in this week ater being backordered for almost two months :angry2: The good news... the bike ran ok around here...

    Don't back up!!!!

Sorry to hear about your bike....it really bites when your bike gets backed over. (trust me on this...my NEW bike, with 240 miles on it was sitting parallel parked in front of the COURTHOUSE in the dead center of the parking space while I was getting the "new vehicle inspection" done when a...

    Time for a new jacket

I'd also encourage you to check out Olympia Motosports gear. I've got an AST jacket and Ranger pants for cold weather and both wife and I have Airglide pants and jackets for hot. I'm very satisfied with both. My riding buddy has an old 'Stich that's been a Great jacket, but methinks when he...

    Windshield or Helmet

I have a Nolen 102. With stock windsheild VERY noisy, beaucoup buffeting. With V Stream, no buffeting but STILL very noisy. Went with an Arai Corsair-MUCH quieter. Also, for summer switched to a VERY low (cut down) Cee Bailey. No turbulance with EITHER helmet and also pretty quiet. Still...

    Being cool and seen

I hate the "look" of the HiViz yellow, HOWEVER I own and wear (ATGATT) an Olympia AST in YELLOW HIVIZ with black Oly Ranger pants in cold weather and a Yellow HiViz Airglide jacket with silver Airglide pants in summer  . They are pretty bright, but by golly it does seem that folks...

    Unhappy FJR owners?

Did not be any means intend to imply that ALL Harley guys don't ride....I've got some friends with an Ultra and Road Glide that have put some serious miles on 'em and I know others do as well, However, around here the classifieds are always well blessed with 3-4 year old Harleys with Low miles (...

    Unhappy FJR owners?

Guys, just to keep it in perspective, every bike out there has it's own "quirks" and problems. Like the man said, ya gotta adapt some (or stay home). that's why we all buy the cool farkles that cover our respective FJR's. there are NO perfect bikes. Even those wonderful (??) Hardley...

    1300AE Reliability?

I've had mine now since October. Haven't gotten to ride as much as I'd hoped but am averaging 1k miles/month. Great bike and would definitely go AE again. One thing to watch for though (with any FJR) is that this puppy is sneaky fast. If you don't watch it you'll get an "award" from...

    inquiring FJR

Bought my 07AE new last October. Great bike, wonderful handling for a full size (heavy) bike. Compared to the R6 it is a good bit heavier, but the performance will be "right there". Take your time, learn the machine and you'll do fine. The AE is, to me, a GREAT option. I bought my bike...

Looking at a 2006 and asking for opinions

    Road-holding Weight

The whole "weight helps cornering" thing would certainly be useful to Rossi and Stoner - why if they were just riding 1 ton bikes instead of those wimpy 300 pounders just imagine how much more they could lean in the curves..... :yahoo:
