Not sure what to do.... but I fear the FJR is out the door

It could also be the different vibration frequency of the FJR... I mentioned riding to my chiropractor once, and he said many people don't realize that the vibration of the bike along with the riding position can cause things to show up. The two other bikes are not just different positions, but...

Yamaha Touring Windshield for '10- Maryland... come and get it

Seriously, I bought a Rifle and this thing has been sitting in my garage and I am tired of looking at it. If you are in Maryland and you want to try the touring shield for cheap, come and get it and give me, say $50. Tired of looking at it and don't feel like shipping it......

    Multiport USB Charging?

I bought a cheap 2 USB charger at WalMart.... goes in the socket and sits flush with the rim, so it takes up almost no space at all. Phone fits in there much better now.

    Seats and seat covers please?

I just did my first saddle sore 1000 after getting the Spencer seat mod. Best $ I have spent on the bike... seat mod is $75 and like another 25 for postage back and forth to Florida. He reshapes the seat a little bit, and adds a material that has a little more give to it. I actually raised my...

Saving Lives on an Iron Butt Ride

Actually, the core of this group are some hard core LD riders.... the guy who organized it has 50 IBA certificates, and two of them had the full auxiliary gas tank set up and all, and two of the women have done multiple saddle sores. And the leader has 200k on his Harley. They all seemed to...

Saving Lives on an Iron Butt Ride

On Saturday 6/14/14 I did my first SS1000, which was an organized ride for charity. What I didn't know was that the riders would be from the local HOG chapters. So, there were 17 Harleys and me, for 1000 miles. There were a couple of novice riders in the group who didn't understand why bikes...

    New Cheaper Tom Tom Rider

I could not find any posts about this unit in the forum....does anyone have one of these yet? At that price, it looks like a slam dunk. https://www.roadrunner.travel/2014/05/16/new-tomtom-rider-getting-way-less/

    Toe dragging

I switched from a VStar to a Connie, and when I banged my boot on the ground the first time I knew a sport-touring bike was right for me :)

    hand cramp.

Just did two 9.5 hour days in a row at 80 mph and had a bit of an epiphany.... my hand goes numb more with my summer gloves than my winter gloves. I compared them both on and off, side by side when I got back. What I found is that even though the summer gloves have gel in the palm, etc., the...

    600 mile service schedule

I have a little different take on this. I would take it back to the dealer, have them certify in writing that they actually performed all the things on the recommended list, and if they won't call Yamaha. I am sure the regional people at Yamaha do not want to incur warranty claims from crappy...

    ride Saturday MoCo, Frederick MD

I'd be in on this, but my daughter will be back from college this weekend. When you cross onto Creagerstown after 194, if you make a right on Old Frederick, you can cross an old covered bridge by Loys Park (I think is the name). Cool route I always take when I go up near Gettysburg. Have fun...

    New bike

+1 on Patriot's comment about taking a course. Technical riding skills and road riding skills are two different animals. Also, pick up a copy of Proficient Motorcycling. Great book!

    Murph's Great Grips

FJR_Mikey they look to be almost the exact same size... if anything maybe 1/16th shorter. The ends are solid, but that is easy enough to fix!

    Murph's Great Grips

Everyone on the Connie forums raves about these grips from Murph. I have a pair left over from the old Connie. I have factory heated grips on the FJR. I have searched the forum but don't see any mention of them. Just seems odd, since there is a lot of crossover from the Connie forums to this...

Yamaha Laptop Roller bag in Topcase?

Makes you wonder why no one has made a tank bag with some wheels.... or have they? I've never seen one.
