    Lone Star Six Shooter

Since I do not have an aux tank, I will hopefully link up with someone else. Can't hang with you 10 gal riders.

    Lone Star Six Shooter

Haven't made up my mind which ride I want to partake in. It will be one of the two thousand milers though. I did a 1000 in February a little over 16 hours and cant imagine two back to back. So I will most likely ride the 2000 in 48. Hope to see ya in Temple that Wednesday evening at the dinner.

    Lone Star Six Shooter

Anyone on this thread so far (or reading it for the first time) planning to participate in one of the Texas Six Shooter sanctioned rides next week? I am and am only hoping to find someone riding the same ride as I and wouldn't mind having company along. Come hell or high water, KSU o400 next...

    J&M CB Audio Question

I'm trying to find a way to watch movies while riding; I ain't distracted enough; at least not yet.

ADVmonster Mod 60 Driving Lights - Placement

Just got these lights in and spent about 40 minutes trying to figure out the best location for mounting. I have the mirror brackets but really don't like the appearance if the lights were to be mounted to the mirror mounts. I would prefer a high location but other than the mirror mounts, there...

    IBA Saddle Sore 1000

Yes, there are a few things I will change when I take on the BB1500. What I didn't like. One is the tank bag has got to go. I picked up a fairly small one and all I learned is it gets in my way both while riding and when refueling. So, I'll just be leaving it behind next time. Secondly, I...

    IBA Saddle Sore 1000

SS1000 completed. Left yesterday morning and returned back to the point of origin in a little over 16 hours (1057 miles) Ran around West Texas at 85+ mph; speed limit on all interstates is 80 mph and all the back roads I was on; 75 mph. Sure makes for a leisurely SS as the miles accumulate...

MCL Rear Powerlet Issue (I think anyway)

Since both your can support brackets have been moved outward equally, I doubt there would be any difference on the can locations (distance below the saddle bags). I did use a spacer on the powerlet side to ensure equal distance outward from the original location. Thanks for the input.

MCL Rear Powerlet Issue (I think anyway)

In the process of a detailed checkout last night in preparation for this Sundays SS1000, I noticed that the Two Brother Black Series cans were not even in terms of height or better put, the distance below the bags was noticeably different. Being anal about things like this, I decided to figure...

    Add-on Electrical Load

Thanks so much TomIn CA. Failed to mention I do have a Datel VM installed. While running at highway speed with the jacket up on high, the socks up all the way, heated grips on a bit and all the electronic stuff going, the Datel read 13.4. When I turned the heating gear off, read 14.2. I...

    Add-on Electrical Load

Next Sunday I head out on a SS1000. Just checked what the temps are forecast to be at the time I headout. Temps will be in the mid-thirties for about the first 4 hours or so. I intend to be wearing a complete set of warming gear; jacket liner, gloves, pants and socks. My question is for...

    Tank Bags

Getting close to my SS1000 and have been advised to pick up a tank bag and the member said they are pretty darn handy. I have never owned/used one and don't really know a lot about them. I really wouldn't care for a really large bag; surely not one with a large profile. I suppose a medium size...

    IBA Saddle Sore 1000

All great advise espcially the hitting the road time. I am an early riser; always have been. Normally up and about at 0300 or so. So, I intend to head out nlt that 0300 on a Saturday morning. Since I live in a rural area of east Parker County, Texas and will be heading west straight out to...

    IBA Saddle Sore 1000

Damn, thought I had company. I am only in the planning stage and the route is one I've never ridden. And I do agree I should stay as far south and southwest as possible due to the time of year I plan on doing this thing. I am originally from San Antonio and would have to plan to run through...

    IBA Saddle Sore 1000

My plan is to do a SS1000 over the third weekend of February; starting early Saturday morning (the 16th). I will be a loop starting in Willow Park, Texas over through east Ft Worth, to Amarillo, Clovis, NM, Lubbock, Odessa, and then east on 20 back to Willow Park. Intend on doing it alone but...

    Datel Install Location Inquiry

Yes, I've read your post carefully and really like your mirror install. I however dont care much for the exposed wiring that would be exposed along the mirror mount.

    Datel Install Location Inquiry

Tired of searching for the answer so I'll just ask. Is mounting a Datel Voltmeter on the left side fairing just behind the glove box a good location? Thought I'd ask before pulling Panel A off just to find out there is not. My right side is alreay occupied with a powerlet. I know there is...
