    2004 FJR For Sale--NM--$6000 OBO

I've owned the bike for 2 1/2 years. Painted it cuz I didn't like the stock color. Replaced fork seals because one was leaking when I bought it, no problems since. I think it was from lack of use...she had been sitting for a while. Oh yeah, it does have ABS!

    2004 FJR For Sale--NM--$6000 OBO

Well taken care of bike. The ONLY reason I'm selling is that I recently took a job in Alaska and need the cash freed up for moving. Otherwise, I'd keep this bike forever, I LOVE IT that much! Rides perfect, fast, and comfortable. New battery(dec), battery tender, Yamaha Touring Windshield...

    What's you fav helmet

Scorpion EXO-500. Great ventilation, comfortable, really stable, and it has the flip down sun visor which was a big selling point for me, don't have to carry multiple shields or try and wear glasses underneath it either.

    104 going north from tucumcari

You should try the southern part of the state too! There's some great rides in the mountains near my house in Alamogordo. Look up NM 244, 130, 24, 6563 and many others around the communities of Alamogordo, Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, Capitan, Lincoln. There's beautiful mountain scenery, lots of...

    Removal of broken bolts

There's a lot of different ways to go about removing a broken bolt or screw, I deal with it all the time on aircraft. It basically comes down to how it broke off. An easy out works great, but so does a pair of vice grips if just the head snapped off and there's some shank left. Deep Creep can...

Any ideas why my ignition switch works intermittently?

Sounds like dirty contacts in your switch. Try the contact cleaner before anything else. You could also have one of the contacts shifted out of place internally, seen that on a bike that was stolen and wouldn't start afterwards, picked it up for 1000 bucks and a delicate disassembly and fix...

    Panel Removal for Electrical Connection

Anytime I'm pulling plastics (or parts off the bike in general) I do what I learned in the Air Force and bag and tag everything. Each panel gets a piece of masking tape with a number, all the fasteners go in a ziplock bag that then gets the same number put on it. Works like a charm, and you...

    Exhaust Header Swap

If I had to guess, I'd say he's talking about header wrap. But to address the OP, I have pulled mine without tearing the whole bike apart, all it takes is a little bit of mechanical skill and some finesse, and remember not to force it. Remove the lower fairings, fender, mufflers; loosen the O2...

    Long riders...tunes?

Almost always have tunes... I just use my Nano with my JVC HA-FR36, they're like foamies with a speaker built in. So double bonus of decreasing noise and awesome sound for headphones....I can put the Ipod in the pocket of my jacket and there's a button on the cord that comes out the bottom of...

Gosh...why are some cagers complete asses?

The fact that the cager was operating a vehicle (read: WEAPON) in a menacing and potentially lethal manner. Most laws allow you to respond with deadly force to a threat to your life. Would I have pulled and shot the guy...probably not...but I can understand the desire to. It's always nice to...

    pirelli tires

I LOVE my Angels. Got a set to replace the POS Metzlers that were on it. I'm not a heavy guy and don't do a lot of 2up or do real long distance touring. They're sticky, and very predictable, I've been known to push it pretty hard cuz I live for the twisties in the mountains here in NM. I got...

Modular helmet or solid..which do you prefer?

Closed face all the way! I've got the EXO-500, alot of my riding is to and from work with one end of it being in the dark or dusk and I don't want to have to carry extra shields with me so the integrated sunshield is nice. It's quiet with the stock windshield(I live in NM, need the airflow!)...

remove front wheel for tire change

I've had the front end apart a couple of times and this is how I do it, with the bike on the center stand. I have exposed rafters in my garage so I use a stout cargo strap (ratcheting type) to go under the neck(behind the triple tree) and raise it to where I need it, this also gives me the...
