Mod to keep AE button shift activated on start up?

Hello, Someone recently requested information from me on these modules. See the thread below. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...mp;#entry635144 I am preparing to make a batch of them and trying to get numbers, so PM me if you would like to order one. Dan

AE paddle shifter button bypass...the thing that keeps your button green

Hey guys, Sorry I missed the thread, haven't been on the forum in a while, until I got a PM about the auto-enable device. Too busy ridin! :yahoo: . I haven't made any in a while, I would be willing to make another batch. If you guys don't mind waiting a week or so, I'd like to get an idea of...

FJR not what is cracked up to be

The throttle does need a little work, but with under $100 dollars invested and a little time, i am happy with mine. For the throttle, G2 throttle tube+fred H mod+ barbarian mod (+10)+throttle body sync. Headshake I cant help you with, although I think I have seen some threads about improperly...

To AE or not to AE?

I love my AE. Its awesome. Some learning curve, yes, but not bad at all. I havent run into any problems going back and forth between regular bikes either. I think it helps to shift with the hand shifter. That way I havent lost my foot reflexes. Also, I would recommend the throttle mods and TB...

    My quiet FJR

\hijack I had to pull a spark plug out of a tire once, and it was a pain in the !$%. They dont come out easy... Who was it!?!??!? /hijack

Who's afraid of the big bad electric shift?

The AE rocks. I love it, and havent looked back, and would definitely buy again. Its got its quirks, but its great. I only have 4500 miles though (hopefully another 1000 or so over labor day weekend.)

    TBS in DFW

For a cheap TB sync tool, Go to Lowes/HD, and buy 4 20 foot rolls of their smallest size clear plastic tubing. Should be about 1/4 OD, .17 ID I think. Also buy a 2x4 and some appropriately sized staples for securing the line to the 2x4. Next go to auto zone and get a 4 way vacuum manifold that...

    Throttle body sync

Yes, I thought about the placebo effect, but engine runs significantly better with the sync. I am pretty picky though. Since the EFI system probably has vacuum compensation, this MIGHT have something to do with it, although not likely since the ports are tied together for the MAP sensor. Not...

Barbarian mod on a '07 FJR

Just did this mod on my 06. Five minutes... Extremely easy. Just dont lose that stooooopid white plug. Simply disconnect the ECU connector push out the white appropriate retainer til it clicks, switch the connections in 23 and 25,(wire with plug), and put it back together. Makes a huge...

    Throttle body sync

Hello, Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I figured its OK since it was posted in the FAQs I tried this method with my new homemade 4 way differential manometer this afternoon. I would NOT recommend it. I found that disconnecting the injectors has a profound effect on the vacuum. I like the...

    FJR AE Operating Questions

+1 If you are worried about wearing the clutch at a light, there is no reason for concern. FJRocket is right on.

    Reusing cotter pins

I like the hitch pin idea... doesnt quite work for every replacement, but good nonetheless. Dont reuse cotterpins if at all possible. They do break. I have seen it many times, sometimes with unfortunate consequences.

    Does you AE slip?

There should be some slippage to ensure smoothness on starting, and if you dont let off the throttle enough between gears the system will slip the clutch for a longer duration to provide minimal jerk in transition between gears. However, as stated, a couple seconds is a LONG TIME. Shouldnt take...

Is it weird, or uncommon for my age to want one?

NOPE!!!! It just sucks having to hold the clutch in at intersections! I dont typically use much of neutral anyway. The AE is so different that I kinda have separately developed reflexes for each type of shifting. Makes it easy to switch.

Is it weird, or uncommon for my age to want one?

I just got my FJR at 22. Im now 23. Moved up from a 750 nighthawk after 2 yrs of riding. Yep. We are the weird ones, but I just jumped on my bike for 7 hours saturday and had a blast. My FJR is AWESOME. GO FOR IT. You wont look back. Oh, and get the AE. The electric shift is sweeeeet :yahoo:

2008 FJR1300 - Dear Yamaha, this is what we want.

OH YEAH!!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Maybe even black out some of the silver parts. Why didnt they make my AE in that color?!?!?!?

    Farkle Priorities

hmmmm..... Forget the cans. Havent tried the PCIII but I might for smoothness. Radar detector would be first on that list for me, but it might give me too much of a false sense of security. As for my a$$hole-like-opinion... Heres what I've got. 1 auto-enable device for the hand shifter 2 have...

    anti-seize

Use antiseize! I had to work with damaged threads on a motorcycle head once. Aint fun. Aint worth it. Wouldnt worry too much about conductivity too much. You already have tons of resistance in the system. The high temp stuff is the right stuff to use.
