    FJR Mileage Milestones

Congrats to Gray Ghost on 1 million km! That's truly amazing! I rolled over a mere 220,000km yesterday.

Do your Canyon Cages need a little maintenance?

The beauty of loctite is that there is no need to adjust for a torque change. Bolts can be torqued at their standard dry torque with it. Part of the reason I recommend it for the threads and a antiseize or other product for the shaft of the bolt.

Do your Canyon Cages need a little maintenance?

Yes sir. Powder coating without sandblasting wouldn't do much good here.

Do your Canyon Cages need a little maintenance?

I share this in hopes of saving someone else a nasty suprise when you need to remove your canyon cages. I purchased canyon cages for my 2013 FJR as soon as they became available. I was part of an initial group buy when they were first made for the gen 3 bikes. They are a strong product that...

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Thanks! I take a picture every 10k km. It is warm now, almost balmy!. Snow again this weekend, apparently. Ugh. I'm good with cold to around -10°c (14°f) if the roads are bare, but I've had snow packed roads for weeks on end. I'm not use to that here. Last year I had to drive to work 3 days for...

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Thanks Gray Ghost. I love this bike. I use it as my primary transportation year round.

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Hit 150,000km (93205mi) today. Getting close to that 100k miles mark, but the snow has sure slowed me down this winter.

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Hit the 75,000 mile mark on my '13 FJR today. Can't say enough good things about this bike! 120,779km = 75,116 miles

    '13 Seat Stuck.

Its worth noting that there are 3 springs inside that switch. One large for the switch plunger. One medium for pressing the copper plate onto the contacts of the switch. One TINY one to press a copper needle into the track pictured above. If the small one drops you will never find it. The...

    '13 Seat Stuck.

I am lucky enough to live in one of the few places in Canada where you can virtually ride year round. I get that some people don't like the rain or cold, but I actually enjoy my commutes (190km/118mi) even when there is a heavy rain fall warning or the mercury dips below freezing. That is...

    '13 Seat Stuck.

Got it! So as we all know the key does not fully go in for the seat lock. I decided to tap on head of the key while penetrating oil was soaking into the lock. After a few good hard whacks it went snap and moved a hair further in! Looks like the very last tumbler was stuck and preventing the key...

I will give it another go in a few minutes. Do you remember if the key turns clockwise or counter clockwise? Its hard to tell when things aren't opening. Seems to turn more counter clockwise.

Have tried that a few times with a great deal of downward force. No luck.

    '13 Seat Stuck.

It has been a bit of bad luck for me today it seems. While repairing a sticky hazard light switch I dropped small part of it into the fairing. I have now removed the entire right fairing and still have no sign of the missing part. It may have bounced under the fuel tank. An easy place to...

    Canada to Mexico time lapse.

Thanks for the nice comments. and No, youre right, it doesn't matter. I supose my question sounded more whiny then necessary. I debated on if it should be posted in ride reports or the general section, but I didnt think I had enough written for ride reports. I was just suprised while reading...

    Canada to Mexico time lapse.

I would appreciate if a mod could let me know why my thread has been moved to Misc Images/Video? I would have thought it fit in the FJR Specific Discussion that I posted it in. Other rides, and videos, are posted there as well. Just curious.
