Need REAL geek/guru to trace email source

Just like the topic says. Maybe one rides an FJR. A shove in the right direction would be appreciated. Does anyone understand THIS: Delivered-To: [email protected] Received: by 10.140.134.10 with SMTP id h10cs89164rvd; Wed, 23 Sep 2009 14:46:06 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path...

Replacing left side magneto- stator? cover

I just recieved a new mag - stator (I have seen it referred to as both) cover. Is replacing it as straightforward as it appears or is there a gremlin waiting. Appears to just need to remove the hex bolts and replace gasket. Does oil need to be drained first? Thanks

    FJR Sales

While talking to the sales mgr at a large dealer here in Daytona I found out that they only sold 8 FJR's last year (low for them) but have moved 24 so far this year! Seems to match the increase in new forum members I noticed recently. I wonder whether this increase is indemic to the SST Genre...

    Replacing magneto? cover.

I need to replace the cover on the left side of the engine, which was described to me as a "magneto" cover. Don't know why it would be called that as I doubt the FJR uses magneto's. Seems pretty straightforward but since I don't have a shop manual - you never know. Now that I am a pro at...

How fast can YOU take your FJR apart and reassemble?

For the first (and I hope the last) time I have had to remove all the body panels to change out the sub frame after a mishap with a rear view mirror. The only things damaged were the mirror and the magneto cover. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Trying to do this without the shop manual is probaly an...

    Need help replacing windshield

Before I break something I thought I'd ask here. How is the front trim plastic attached to the windshield brace? It appears that you have to remove the shield with the bike on and in the "up" position. Could someone briefly explain how to remove the shield and trim? Thanks in advance

Motor Cyclist taking shots at Kawi?!

This months MC came with renewel notice inclosed which went immediately into the round file after a thorough read. After all the supportive prose regarding the ZX14, Hearn starts his piece by referring to the consensus of opinion around the office as follows: "The distilled, collective...

    Busa & ZX14 Hyper bikes

Let me say at the outset that my interest here is purely from an engineering standpoint. I have no bones to pick with any mfg or genre of bike. This topic became interesting to me as a side product of taking some tire footprints at various air pressures to maximize braking performance on a...

Early C-14 owner reports "gutless" bottom end

From Bikeland.org C14 forun Seems the current crop of SST bikes are not that easy to top. Even when your target is standing still. Remember, top gear is only 220 rpm lower than the FJR. Got the Url if you want to read the whole thing C-14 review by a new owner

    Class definitions and differences

Other than knowing that MotoGP dropped to 800cc's this year and that Supersport is a 600cc class, I know absolutedly nothing about each class. AMA classes also. Where is this info?

    MC magazine reviews / reviewers

I have noticed an irritating trend on MC reviews and “comparo’s”. The first is that contrary to good test procedure and radom selection, all bikes are given to a publication “gratis” which carries with it a certain, if slight, indebtedness. Someone hands you a $15,000 state of the art...

Comparison - Full Specs of SST's

Ran across my spreadsheet that I did while looking at all the SST's - That I was interested in anyway. Thought you might find it as usefull a source of info as I did if you didn't do your own. Corrected 6/9/07 UPDATED 6/18/07

Throttle lock vs Cruise control . . . vs Autopilot

I have seen lots of posts lately on throttle locks and cruise control. Given the recent outlook for gas prices I thought it might be usful to chime in here and remind farklers that throttle locks not only are considerably cheaper and easier to install, they get better fuel milage than CC's. To...

Tire pressure monitor systems - for bikes

I've seen that there are quite a few different systems out there. I thought I'd short circuit my usual exhaustive research methods (read getting lazy) and query the collective databank of brilliant minds here on the forum. This appears to be just too good an idea for vehicles whose ability to...

Anyone have a pic of FJR straight from the rear

I am looking for a pic of the FJR from straight behind it. I tried to copy from the 360 photo on the Yam site but could not get that to work.

    MPG test on FJR

With gas slipping over $3.00/gal and installation of a PCIII days away, I was interested in finding out how what MPG penalty speed caused. I wanted a comparative "before" and "after" so now was the time. I tried to make the test as emphiracal as possible and I believe it is, at least in...
