What did you do to your FJR today?

Pulled her out of the garage and put 80 miles on it . Some two lane some city, some FWY. I got a Goldwing 1,100 miles ago. Riding the FJR just reminds me what an excellent motorcycle it is. Kind of feels like a 10 speed, after riding the Wing.

    My Gen II stumble

To clarify the previous post. The loose battery terminals were months before the stumble issue. The dealer simply did not tighten them. I have logged some miles since my last post. I let the bike sit a week and the issue raised it's head slightly. Slow to loose the mild stumble, but drivable...

    My Gen II stumble

All factory recalls are complete. The terminals were tight with no obvious corrosion or contact issues. I did have a loose battery terminal issue. The local dealer completed the ignition switch recall and failed to tighten the battery terminals. I had a scary engine cut out. It's raining and...

    Yamaha Dealers

I found this dealer lacking: Palmdale supercycle Palmdale Ca.93550 First the ignition switch recall. The tech did not tighten the battery terminals. This caused the bike to stall while riding, Second the grounding recall. I advised the shop supervisor of my bad first experience. The...

Bike died twice since "supplemental" wiring ground installed

Back when they "fixed" my ignition switch, I got an intermittent stalling problem. This would only happen while I was moving, NOT COOL. I checked the fault codes, nothing. I decided the battery was going so i bought a new one. Well the tech did not tighten the battery terminals. I tightened...

I didn't realize there was so much FJR activity in the AV. I see an 06 of the 14 FWY, every so often.

GEN II Low Speed Miss When Cold

Thanks for the replies. The ride to work cleared up 99.9 % of what was wrong. Could be I'm just sensitive to the problem now. The fuel is about 30 days old. I'll make an effort to run out this tank and get fresh fuel. The tank was near empty when I last filled it. The fuel was from a large...

GEN II Low Speed Miss When Cold

My 2006 with about 16K on the ODO has a low speed miss, when it’s cold. I searched for similar problems and saw some units had corrosion on a connector. My issue sounds slightly different. Between 1000 to 2500 RPM, it doesn’t like the throttle. It will idle, no issue. Adding throttle it will...

    electricular question

I am no electrical genius...but.. Go with the fuse block. I did the barrier strip mod for Honda heated grips, Zumo, radar... It sips juice through a 30 amp relay. It fits nicely under the left side panel. My issue is every accessory has its own fuse. The fuses are under the seat, just in case...

    Color Match Motor Case

There is fun money to spend on your bike, and the other kind. I need to repaint the left case. Is there a color match for the case paint? I looked at some postings on paint. To much fun stuff to look at. I didn't find what I was looking for. In the garage, in a hurry, I got off the bike to...

    Scare today

Viva California ignoring splitters. I split because I can. Splitting in Ca is not really legal it's just not illegal. The rule is, if the officer thinks your unsafe he can / will pull you over. It's scary at first, then it becomes old hat. This is where common sense must kick in. When I was...
