It should work. There is no major difference in the Gen I (03-05) FJR's that would cause them not to work.

there was a change in the fairing between the '03 and before and the 04-05 models. in 04 they integrated the turn indicators. i can't say whether that changes anything else with the fairing or not.

R&G makes some well-placed frame sliders for the FJR. Bike Johnny ( https://www.bikejohnny.com ) sells them and ships quickly to the US. They look good on my 2003 even though they're never had to be tested.

The part of the fairing you need to cut out is the same for 03-05. My 03 is wearing 05 lowers at the moment and bolt right up to the 03 uppers. The sliders installed without a hitch.

I have tested the R&G sliders. I personally believe I can still walk because of them.

There's a set on e-Bay similar to what I had put on my '05 this summer. Fit was good and doesn't require cutting the panels.https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05-Yamah...sspagenameZWDVW
Have you tested those yet?

Those sliders are a bit higher up than the through-fairing... With the relocation, will the impact be transmitted directly to the frame or can the bracket bend, allowing all kinds of nasties?

Just curious... :assassin:
