Damn! Was really hoping to post here and have one of the salty members holler at me to do a search because it's x,y, and z and we've covered that 1000x.
Maybe call me a noob and end his post with a pissed off smiley.

You can't just jump into the deep end.

I appreciate the advice. Just bummed it's not a simple solution.

 
Troubleshooting the FJR finally made it to the top of the priority heap. I pulled the valve cover and timing chain cover only to find that the chain guide that sits in the valve cover had broken and dropped into the works. Damage appears to be minimal. All parts are accounted for. A new chain and a new guide should fix it up as long as there's no valve train damage.

Does anyone know of a good write up that shows the best way to set the timing? It was knocked out with the damage.
