>>>>>>>> - - - - 3/05 UPDATE: New light set added, Sevina! - - - - <<<<<<<<

Hey Gang... the group buy for Clearwater lights is back by popular demand for a 4th year!

If you aren't familiar with Clearwater LEDs yet, click the banner link at the top of the page which will take you to their website. I'm not affiliated with them and I'm only setting this up for those interested in upgrading their lighting and looking to save a little with a forum discount. Before I get in trouble here I want to run through a few points:
  • Yes, CW lights are expensive!
  • I'm not here to step on anyones toes and I know there are already several group buys active for LED lights... please buy the lights you want and don't assume I'm here to take over the light market. There's plenty of room for several options and choices make a better shopping experience!

  • We are all on a budget to some degree, if lighting isn't the place you want to drop a few bennies that's totally fine!
Okay, disclaimer done and here's the deal; I'm posting this up as a 10-day early notice since we can place orders on March 14th until the group purchase ends on March 31st. Sell that stuff on Craisglist and save your pennies!

Just like last year, this group buy is good on the full line of Clearwater motorcycle lighting. Also available are their LED flashlights and a new bicycle lighting system. Below are the light models & lumen output:

  • Darla 4,000 lumens (per set), 20 watts (colored trim rings available at extra cost)
  • $425.00 (our price) Savings of $75

  • Mirror Brackets: I know some members were interested in mounting Darlas under their mirrors instead of Kristas or Ericas. Glenn said that's no problem, they would work in that location. If you want the FJR specific mirror brackets he is dropping $25 off:
  • $ 50.00 (our price)

  • Krista2S 6,000 lumens (per set, up from 4,800 in the original), 36 watts, 8º beam angle (Krista now boasts 30% more light in a longer reaching beam)
  • $549.00 (our price) includes FJR mirror brackets. Savings of $170
  • (Clearwater's Krista page isn't updated with the new output ratings yet, but the new lights are shipping)

  • Erica2 12,000 lumens (per set), 60 watts, 15º beam angle (Now boasting 30% more light, more efficiency and European standard Radio noise reduction)
  • $749.00 (our price) includes FJR mirror brackets. Savings of $170
  • (Clearwater's Erica page isn't updated with the new output ratings yet, but the new lights are shipping)

  • Sevina 15,000 lumens (per set), 80 watts (estimated) This light is new as of January 15, is 4" wide, and has a beam spread of 8° for a focused driving beam. Basically a flamethrower!
  • $1,099.00 (street price, no forum discount on these) Lights only, no brackets at that price.
  • (Clearwater's main page isn't updated to show these yet, but these are shipping with about a 2 week delay at this point)

  • Andie 1,000 lumens, handheld rechargeable flashlight comparable in size to Streamlight and Surefire
  • $ 99.00 (our price) Includes 100~240 volt charger and 2 rechargeable batteries. Savings of $20

  • The new Clearwater LORETTA Dive light is durable and flexible SCUBA Dive light With a water tight rating of 300', this light is ready for your next undersea adventure or simply to clean the bottom of your pool at night.
  • $119.00 (our price) includes 2 Lithium Ion 3.7 volt batteries and 100~240 volt charger that can charge 1 or 2 batteries. Savings of $30

  • The new Clearwater Shelby bike light is rugged and tough. Five light modes are accessible. High (900Lumens), Med (450L), Low (225L), Extreme Low (100L) and Strobe (450L).
  • $119.00 (our price) includes Battery pack with (4) Lithium Ion 3.7v batteries, 100~240 volt charger, helmet mount, handlebar mount, and head strap mount. Savings of $30

  • NOTE: Glenda is phasing out from their product line & isn't a part of this group buy, if for some reason you really want 800 lumen lights you can ask... but they don't have any in stock at this time.
------- Ordering process -------

So just like last year, please wait until March 14th to call Clearwater! Everyone last year was polite and really nice, and if Jolin is happy with us then we'll get another group buy in the future!

Do NOT use their website to place orders for the lights on this Group Buy, make sure and follow these 3 steps:

  • Give them a call at: 916-852-7029
  • Contact for this group buy is: Jolin Lykins
  • Mention group buy code: FJR2015GB
Your credit card info will be taken down and once we have orders in the pipeline the lights will start to ship out. There shouldn't be any backorders but ask when you order just to make sure. If you want any amber lenses or colored trim rings installed for your lights now is the time to order those!

I think thats it for now, hope y'all have fun ordering and installing... you'll be ready for riding season when it finally arrives for all of us.

P.S. If you're interested in a personal rider's POV article about the new Krista2 lights, check out this write up by a BMW K1600 rider.

Thanks again and until the next update...

Thanks for setting this up again Abe! Some great deals in there and a nice upgrade to the Kristas. Wish I would have known that was coming. I'll be adding the Darla's.

Thanks guys! Added new light set "Sevina" to the list' first time available for sale and not even listed on their website yet. NOTE: there will be a delay in shipping these, expect 1 to 2 weeks before orders are filled for Sevinas. Also on top of the order cost you'll need to add mirror brackets ($50) or your choice of other mounting hardware. But they are bright as aircraft landing lights! ;)

Okay, anyone interested in getting in on this group buy you've got 2 weeks to make that call... Jolin should be ready to take your calls starting Monday morning. :)

Phoned in my order on Monday for 2 of the Andie flashlights. Took advantage last year and bought Krista's then.

Thanks for setting this up!

Thanks for the updates guys, glad you took advantage of the discounts! The Andie flashlight is a great little compact unit, love mine and it competes on par with the $175 Surefire tactical light I also use... :)

Erica2's on the way to me. Jolin really twisted my arm. OK, actually she was really very nice and put up with me. I have been meaning to pull the trigger on Clearwaters ever since I got my 2006. I suppose I was just waiting for the latest upgrade. I really wanted the Sevina's but just couldn't make the financial leap.

I ride everyday through rural/farm country in the dark and felt like the Sevina's wouldn't just light up bambi, but roast him too! Alas, I'll just have to settle for blinding the darn things with the Erica's.

Here's hoping the Erica 2's will keep a few addled brain 16 year-old girls with their cell phones blazing out of my way. Thanks again Linc!

Got my Darla's on order today. After talking to Billie over at Clearwater (Jolin was at lunch), he told me that the Kristas that I received last year were actually the new 2s's with the 6000 lumens so I was glad to hear that. I thought they were the old 4800's. He said they were shipping out the new 2s models before they were actually advertising them on their site. Now I know why those things are so bright. After I get the Darla's mounted, I'll be able to direct the Krista further down-road and use the Darla's to light up the road right in front of me. Not cheap, but really awesome lights!

Thanks Linc.

Damn, the less powerful Krista 2 with the 8 degree reflector actually puts more light further down the center of the road than the Ericas. My Kristas are two years old and I can't afford to replace them yet. Need to replace my worn out Gore-Tex suit first. Oh well.

Linc, are you adding another set of Clearwaters or are you just being nice and putting everyone else ahead of yourself by arranging this?

Listen everyone, Linc is absolutely the nicest, least selfish person I've met in 40 plus years of motorcycling and I sincerely mean that.

Sheesh, now you made me all awkward and shy... thanks for the kind words!

I'm not adding any more lights this year, this was just a group buy for the forum members to get a discount on top-shelf lights... looks like there's a few of y'all taking the plunge! Would love a set of Glenda's to add just as conspicuity lights... but not in production anymore and other purchases are taking priority this year.

It's crazy how all their lights are a little brighter this year with about the same power draw. Nice if you're just buying for the first time!

Hey Steve,

Glad you were able to get the lights you wanted and save a bit in the process. Hope you're happy with the output and quality of the system. Cheers and happy/safe riding!

Fantastic product and superior customer service.

My experience with Clearwater products and services has been nothing but outstanding.

A must buy!
