2016 ES, 105,500kms (65,500miles)
New battery installed the end of March 2024.
April riding log 1032 kms driven. 35 trips of varying length. 8 instances of ‘low’ cranking voltage, 9.22V to 9.64V. Only one in eight is the first trip of the day. Not sure that’s a useful clue.

Do I have a problem? Starter? Bike starts fine every time. Some starts take longer than others, but never more than a 'button press'.

The other stuff seems like you're dwellling on new data from a new fun toy.....which is certainly fine. I question your assumption about a 'low' unless you cite documentation to the point and not knowing how the measuring gadget works. I know motorcycle batteries are built for a wide range of voltages.

But to answer your question: If your FJR starts, then your FJR is running fine. RM&SL.
 
Three missing bits of information to determine whether you have a problem:
1) What is the starting current as measured with a clamp-on DC ammeter?
2) What is the battery voltage at idle (after a ride) and at 3,000 RPM?
3) After coming back from a ride (fully charged), let the bike sit a minimum of two hours and measure the battery voltage without turning on the key.

For the starting current, the time is very short before it starts so you might have to disconnect the power leads to the injectors to get a real number.
You might want to get the battery load tested if you are concerned about its condition.

(Agreeing with @Ignacio , I think you are likely OK as well)

Stress less is the reason I asked. Cranking voltage of 10v has been quoted here quite often, thats the threshold I had in mind.

Odd. I did a a search on "10v" and find a gamut of contrary to kinda vague to totally unrelated. Even less likely with "10v cranking" I did find one site that cites 9.6 in a load test for lead-acid, but I'm not sure I'd hang my hat on it. I'd still go more old-school and if the starter's turning over I'd run it till she doesn't.
 
While cranking the lowest reading I saw was 10V

Put my meter on it as i was starting it, meter went to 10v. when it started

and it dropped to 10v at start up. That looks good

The 10V was (surprisingly) enough to start the bike.
There is a Revzilla article that states "A good battery should not drop below 9.6 volts over 10 seconds or so. (when starting)"
Batterystuff.com (same site you quoted) says elsewhere "A good battery will hold a voltage above 9.6 volts while cranking"

Question answered, I dont have a problem.
