Dougie Bear Ride from dcarver220b on Vimeo.

2021-02-14 DougieBear Ride

Doug rings in
"In Death Valley, meet in McKittrick Sunday?"
"Sure, Penny Bar, 0900?"

"Yep!"

Didn't occur to me that 0900 meet up meant 0600 get up!

Santa Margarita

Called in a breakfast burrito to-go order.. they burnt it! No time for real breakfast, running late!

58 East

and again

Up ahead is Bitterwater road.

Too cold for nose picker gloves, heated gloves next! KrZy8 is running GREAT with a 2013 fuel tank and pump. Also, just installed refurbished and balanced injectors.

Carizzo plains in the morning.

58's tarmac is great. Redone about 4 years ago.

We arrived almost simultaneously. DougieBear flexes his manly muscles.. LOL The Pennybar opened at 10, it was 9. But the nice man offered us the porch, hot coffee and home made coffee cake. it was very good. As was the conversation with Dougie and some other dude that was there.

With full bellies, 58 westbound.

Dougie needed to be home so our route was McKittrick to Bitterwater to San Miguel.

DB preps for the phot opp.

...and there it is!

Bitterwater road.

.

Open range means keep your eyeballs open for big 4 legged critters.

Hard to see, but lots of birds in the pic.

Back roads to San Miguel. The traffic was terrible.

We both openly groused about a freaking car being on our road.

This is Hare Canyon, westbound, leads to 101 where Dougie continued his northern journey and decided to ride some more locally. I start a nuke gig in several short days, so eek out as much fun as possible these days.

Heading toward Jolon Rd

Up and around Lake San Antonio, the Bee Rock Store sits abandoned.

Look close at box 6355. Well done!

I was here. My phone is freaking out, the touch digitizer is dying. It's a common iPhone 6plus problem that Apple never took care of. Much like a BMW final drive. :)

Some stats.

Naciamento lake. Good to see it with water again.

Rolling hills of Paso Robles.

Peachy Canyon, east bound.

Feeling the need to get back to the Hondarosa now..

Cali drivers in my hood are nice. EVERY driver pulled over to let me motor by.

This sign must be old. Pretty sure population is much more than indicated.

Weird weather pattern.. little rain, and with warm temps, the Almond trees are faked into blooming.

One last shot of a unique property then to home.

The End
