Got this yesterday on my way home from a ride. Got my bike new in Spring of 2009 (leftover '08), never commute or ride it around town, all the miles are from traveling for fun. I never thought I'd ride a bike like this. I swear it runs better now than when new!

Turned 50K while on HWY 191 in Wyoming between Rock Springs and Pinedale.

As for how I feel, well all I can say is that I'm still pretty buzzed, after the welcome Yamaha gave me. I'll be doing a short ride report when I get a chance.

Here's the Global Project Manager for the FJR (Iwata, Japan)

I was also very fortunate to meet the "father" of the FJR (V-Max, etc.), the President of GK Designs, who design many of the Yamaha bikes.

Wow James, you should re-post this as a ride report as not all will be following this long thread on mileage milestones.

I bought my '07 (used) in the spring of 2010. It had 12,600 miles on it when I brought it home. Today, the bike hit 112,600 miles and (dammit) I missed the photo op. 100,000 miles (for me) in just over four years and it is, without a doubt, the best all around motorcycle I have owned. I have a way to go before I achieve JamesK's milestone.

Hey Skooter please update my listing, I cracked the 200k mark yesterday on 2007 FJR

CONGRATS, JamesK.. You're truly a nice guy who has contributed much to this forum and obviously you ride a lot too! I appreciate your help with the technical issues I've endured (charging system) and really do hope to meet and/or ride with you some day!

James, Congratulations on your recent milestone and enjoyed the scenic picture.!!!!! Something everyone should be aware of, the cable going into the brass bushing on the clutch lever will poke a hole through it and into the lever itself and make it very loose. Even though you have it tightened up, if you still have some play it could be the brass bushing worn out and if not kept a close watch on could poke all the way through the handle on the lever. P.S. just caught mine in the nick of time.

So when does 81,884 = 90,000? When you own a 2006 FJR that lost 8,116 miles when the recall work was done due to the temperature display problem.

I became the second owner of the bike when I purchased in 2009 with around 20K for mileage. Today it turned 90,000 miles while driving home from work. In the 6 riding seasons I have owned the bike, I have put 70,000 miles on. Not bad for for a Minnesota rider! Still love the bike but the 2014 sure is a tease!

hey i just crashe my 2006 frjr 1300 it had 165310 on it and now I have a brand new 2014 ES yes I am happy about the new bike but I still cried when I brought it home and had to strip it out I mean 165k I had alot of meorries on tis bike it was hard, but the new bike is awesome.

Still holding the top post for 2008 over the 50K marker. Hope to join the next level by years end. I will have to work at it though.

Dave

I hit the 200k mark on the '05 in Arizona.

Since I bought the bike in '09 with 8k already on the bike, I figure 208k will be my "Feel Good" mark.

The bike's name was "Baby Blue" - when I hit 100k it became "True Blue" and now with 200k….
